Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Cocktail Reception for Amigos Night at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood

A special thank you to our Board of Directors, Host Committee, Founders Circle members, Young Professionals Council, staff, sponsors, partners, and friends who helped make the evening so special and kicked off Amigos Night 2026 with us.

Recently at Amigos For Kids:

On Monday, we had our all-staff meeting, where we discussed updates from each department and the future of Amigos For Kids. It was great to see so many of us together and learn more about each department.

Tuesday, an amazing volunteer group from Whole Foods Market joined us at the warehouse to help us prepare for our upcoming events!

Outreach and education are such important parts of what we do every day. Our wonderful Carolina gave several presentations this month on Purple Crying, an evidence-based shaken baby syndrome prevention program.

This month, we were also proud to be part of the Opa-locka Community Baby Shower! New and expecting mothers received free baby essentials and connected with community partners who offer valuable resources and support. We love seeing our communities here in Miami strong and there for one another!

Our work doesn’t end here. After the devastating earthquake in Colombia, some of our staff were able to volunteer with Gem at their warehouse to support the people of Colombia.

This year is extra special because we are celebrating our 35th anniversary! Come celebrate with us and enjoy super delicious Miami food, live music, dancing, and dominoes! All while supporting a good cause!

Amigos For Kids believes in supporting and strengthening families. Education and outreach are at the heart of what we do, whether it’s through our After-School Program, Positive Parenting Program, or Amigos Care Program.

As Miami’s hottest month of the year comes to an end, we want to look back at the amazing work our Amigos For Kids staff did in August! 💙

We partnered with Caring For Miami to host a food drive to provide fresh food for local families in our community! We had fresh vegetables, fruits, and prepared food from Trader Joe’s and other grocers.

Raysa, Martha, Ramon and Carolina, part of the team behind our Positive Parenting Program, attended a Prevention Convention, which brought groups from around Florida to discuss ways to continue the commitment to strengthening families and protecting children throughout the state.

Kathy and Carolina attended a Period of Purple Crying event alongside Miami Diaper Bank at the Opa-Locka neighborhood service center.

Tabling is such a big part of what we do here at Amigos For Kids, we believe education and outreach is important. We educate the community on the Period of Purple Crying program, which is an evidence based shaken baby syndrome prevention program. We also reach out to the community and offer free parenting classes.

This month we also received a very generous donation from Nico Abadie! These donations will assist many families that we serve through our programs. Thank you again for your generosity. 💙
