For over three decades, UAC has stood by Ukraine’s children — through peace and now through war.
Our scholarships open the door to education when everything else feels uncertain.
Even in the darkest times, learning gives them a future to hold on to. Please meet Olha, a candidate to the Scholarship program. Olha was born in 2010, in the village of Odesa region. Until the age of ten, she lived with her grandmother, mother, and brother; she had never had a father in her life. When Olha turned ten, the family moved to the city of Odesa so she could have better educational opportunities.
In 2025, Olha’s grandmother passed away, leaving her mother to raise the children alone. Despite these hardships, Olha has remained dedicated to her studies and her future.
She is now a first year student, training to become a hairdresser and manicurist. Olha loves her profession and believes it will help her build a stable career and support her family.
Olha currently lives in Odesa with her mother and brother. Daily life is extremely difficult due to the ongoing war — constant explosions, air raid sirens, and frequent outages of electricity and water. Even in these conditions, she continues to study and dreams of finding good work to help her mother.
Olha is applying to the UAC Scholarship Program to continue her education and build an independent, dignified future. She promises to study diligently, follow the organization’s rules, and make the most of this opportunity. Please visit the UAC site www.uacukraine.org and become Olha's sponsor today!
