In partnership with .miami, we’re bringing this free Fellowship program to Homestead to help women build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to strengthen their communities before, during, and after climate-related challenges.

Participants will receive hands-on training in:
• Extreme weather preparedness
• Civic engagement
• Urban gardening
• Climate leadership

Found in the grasslands, wetlands, and tropical forests of Central and South America, these remarkable animals have no teeth. Instead, they gather ants and termites with a sticky tongue that stretches roughly two feet and flicks up to 150 times a minute. Talk about fast food.

Yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in a landmark climate case involving Boulder, Colorado, and fossil fuel companies ExxonMobil and Suncor Energy. Boulder first filed the lawsuit in 2018, alleging the companies knew about the dangers associated with their fossil fuel products, contributed to climate change, and misled the public about those risks. The city and county are seeking compensation for some of the costs of climate-related damages, including impacts from extreme heat and wildfires.

The Supreme Court is not deciding whether the companies are ultimately liable. Instead, the justices are considering legal questions that could determine whether Boulder’s case can proceed under state law. The outcome could have major implications for similar climate accountability lawsuits brought by communities across the country.

At The CLEO Institute, we believe an informed and engaged public is essential to meaningful climate action. We’ll continue following this case and sharing what it could mean for climate accountability nationwide.
