Today, we advocated for, and got back, Miami’s shared scooter program. Micromobility done right is an important part of Miami’s mobility network, and is key to solving congestion and increasing access to opportunities.

Regarding tonight’s Citizens’ independent transportation trust vote, we are extremely disappointed the County sided with private interests over transit riders.

For a moment, transit riders had a chance to be heard and get a solution that finally worked for them and not for private interests.

Our County failed its riders and residents today.

The monorail isn’t a transit solution, it’s a ribbon-cutting project for politicians and a profit generator for a maybe future casino.

To our Mayor and Commissioners: stop using transit as a bargaining chip for private interests. The people want and voted for rapid transit. It’s time you honor that.
