Who We Play For

Who We Play For Our mission is to eliminate preventable sudden cardiac death in the young through affordable heart screenings

We all have someone or something that motivates us - it's who we play for. WWPF is driven by the young lives lost to SCA, and our fight to help ensure other families, teams and communities will never know that pain. WWPF brings together heart screening groups from across the country who all have their own motivation, their own story. Whether it's Rafe Maccarone in Florida, Brandon Goyne, Sarah Fri

end and Cody Stephens in Texas or Burke Cobb in Louisiana - we've lost too many beautiful young people to Sudden Cardiac Arrest. All these foundations, created in memory of a lost loved one, have banded together under the WWPF umbrella to inspire and empower communities to provide every student with the opportunity to screen their heart.

A weekend in Washington, D.C. for the 6th Annual National CPR & AED Awareness Rally & March! ♥️

From CPR/AED training in front of the Lincoln Memorial to connecting with incredible people in the SCA community and hosting a heart screening at George Washington University, it was an unforgettable weekend.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from and continue working alongside others to help prevent SCA. 🙌

Every mission has a why. Ours will always be Rafe. ❤️

On National Nonprofit Day, we’re remembering the story that started Who We Play For and continues to fuel everything we do.

We’re so grateful for how far WWPF has come and for everyone who continues to help us bring heart screenings to more communities.

We may play for many now, but it all started with Rafe. And we’ll always play for him, too.

Awareness saves lives. ❤️

We’re so grateful for partners like Dr. Trivedi and the team at Children's Cardiology Clinic, LLC for helping spread the word about the Second Chance Act and the importance of heart screenings.

It’s not about creating alarm, but about creating awareness and helping prevent sudden cardiac arrest in young people.

Together, we can help give more young hearts a second chance. 🫶
