The trauma and fear that come with gun violence are closely intertwined with not just our individual mental health, but our collective mental health as well. Gun violence is not a unique experience for many in the US, and it leaves grief, hurt, and desperation in its wake.

If you or someone you know has experienced gun violence, you don’t have to process it all on your own. Help exists.

You can always find resources at twloha.com/find-help. 🧡

What's something your inner child needs to hear, say, or feel right now?

An attempt to help one friend & sell a t-shirt to cover the cost of her treatment turned into a movement that, since 2006, has invested over $4.7 million in treatment & recovery scholarships to help people who needed it.

A single statement, let alone a single word, cannot fully encompass everything the LGBTQIA+ community has experienced and is currently experiencing. There’s joy—always joy—but there is also pain, exhaustion, beautiful hope, and heaviness. There is so much, and we need you to know that we see it all, we feel it all, and we are with you through it all. https://twloha.com/blog/the-world-is-better-with-you-in-it/

As some companies, departments, and organizations scale back or refrain from intentionally honoring Pride and marginalized people and communities, we want you to know that we see you. Others may not, and that reality hurts, but we won’t be quiet about acknowledging the truth that these are not trivial things, and that your presence is not something to be disregarded. https://twloha.com/blog/the-world-is-better-with-you-in-it/

A moment to say thank you to Renee (). Your bravery in sharing your story gave hope to more people than any of us could have imagined.

When Jamie Tworkowski shared Renee’s story on Myspace for the first time, people saw themselves in it. Or their friends. Or their siblings. Or their parents. For many, it gave language to things they had only carried silently before. It gave space for people to finally say, “Me too.”

What started as an attempt to help one friend became something thousands of people needed.

At the time, mental health wasn’t talked about the way it is now. Resources were harder to find. Honest conversations were rare.

Renee, thank you for letting the world into your story. We know you could have never anticipated just how many people would find themselves reflected in your honesty, your pain, and in your survival. But 20 years later, there are still comment sections, messages, and emails filled with stories from people who are still here because they found a home in your story.

Thank you for helping people feel less alone.
