Proud to see two of our own Cocoa Beach Professional Firefighters, Scott Prevost and Mathew Scales, featured in this Spectrum News 13 story while instructing regional flood rescue and awareness training through SARTAC Group.

Scott and Mathew are members of Cocoa Beach Fire Department who also bring their experience and expertise to SARTAC, helping train firefighters across Brevard County and across the nation.

This regional training was made possible through a partnership between SARTAC Group and the Space Coast Fire Chiefs Association, bringing together firefighters from agencies throughout Brevard County to strengthen flood rescue preparedness and response.

We’re proud of our members for sharing their knowledge beyond our department, and we appreciate everyone involved in making this training possible.

We’ve been seeing a lot of questions lately about where you can find our lifeguards, so we wanted to make it easy!
As we transition into our OFF-SEASON, our staffing changes slightly. Our year-round towers remain staffed daily from 10 AM–5 PM, while our seasonal towers will continue to be staffed on weekends through Labor Day.

Congrats to Polk County Fire Rescue and their city leadership for tentativly agreeing 24/72 schedule. Another huge step forward for firefighters mental health and work life balance!

🚒 Historic Day For Polk County Professional Firefighters - IAFF Local 3531 🚒

Today marks a defining moment in the history of IAFF Local 3531 and Polk County Fire Rescue.

After countless hours of preparation, research, collaboration from both sides of the table, and negotiations, the Polk County Board of County Commissioners has tentatively agreed to implement a Delta (D) Shift schedule, with an implementation date of October 1 2027, pending final ratification by the Board of County Commissioners and IAFF Local 3531.

This achievement is the direct result of the dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment of our Local 3531 Negotiations Team. Their tireless work and determination made this historic agreement possible, and we extend our sincere gratitude for everything they have done on behalf of our membership.

This is more than a schedule change, it is an investment in our firefighters, our families, and the future of Polk County Fire Rescue. It represents a stronger organization, improved work life balance, and a continued commitment to providing exceptional service to the citizens of Polk County. While there is still one final step through the ratification process, we are proud of how far we've come together.

This past week, Cocoa Beach Fire Department responded to 61 calls for service throughout our community. Our Cocoa Beach Fire Department also participated in a mutual aid water rescue training with Canaveral Fire Rescue City/Port
