We’ve been quiet here, but only because we’ve been so busy off of here! Every day we get many calls from people needing help. We can only help a small percentage, but when we help, we save lives. This week alone we have taken in four dogs and two cats. Last week was about the same.

Consider signing up to foster or transport animals. If you have a few extra bucks, please consider donating to our program who does not pay anyone so all money goes directly to serve our pet and survivor population.

We are in need of funds for two f***l exams for dogs trying to get into DV shelter with their mom. The need is urgent so they can all escape domestic violence and get into safe housing. However, our bank account is overdrawn $90 so we are unable to provide any funds. We always need funds for vet care and pet friendly hotels.

Zeffy is the best way to donate without fees. They give you an option to give 17% extra but you can change that selection to zero so there are no fees.

🐾 Meet Sandy 🐾

Sandy is officially recently adopted. 💜

Sandy came to us through a domestic violence case. At Animal Safehouse, our goal is always to keep pets with their owners whenever it’s safe to do so — because pets are family, and healing is better together.

Unfortunately, in some cases, it’s not possible to safely reunite a pet with their owner. When that happens, we step in to make sure the pet still gets the loving, stable future they deserve.

We’re so happy to say Sandy has found exactly that 🐶✨

Update: FOSTER NEED MET!

URGENT!🚨 Animal Safehouse Program needs immediate foster for two very sweet cats in Brevard County so their mom can escape domestic violence. They are literally in carriers out of the house with nowhere to go, so we are working hard to find an available foster!

This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking for your support to protect pets caught in domestic violence.

Nearly 50% of survivors don’t leave abusive situations because they fear their pet will be harmed — and that’s where we step in.

Animal Safehouse is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing emergency foster care, supplies, vet care, and safe placement for pets until families can reunite in safety.
