Welcome to the Drown Zero Family, Hair Biz!

We’re excited to welcome Hair Biz, located at the Mai Tiki Marketplace in Downtown Cocoa Beach, as one of our newest Drown Zero adopted supporters!

Owner and stylist Rhonda Mahan is stepping up to support our mission of preventing drownings, promoting beach safety, and keeping lifesaving flotation equipment available to our community and visitors.

END OF SUMMER DROWN ZERO ADOPTION OPPORTUNITY

As we close out an incredible summer of growth for Drown Zero International, we’re opening a limited number of remaining stations for our Year-End Community Safety Initiative.

For organizations, businesses, or community partners that step forward before the end of the year, Drown Zero will provide the first TWO YEARS of station adoption at no cost.

This is an opportunity to help support local and state lifesaving efforts in education and providing appropriate USCG approved flotation ring stations where it’s needed and become part of a program built around one simple goal:

Give someone a fighting chance when seconds matter.

Our message remains simple:

THROW, DON’T GO.
Always swim in front of a lifeguard.

Only a limited number of stations are available through this year-end initiative.

LABOR DAY IS COMING. KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!

Labor Day weekend is almost here, and for many families it means one last big beach weekend of the summer. Drown Zero wants everyone to have a great time and most importantly, make it home safely.

Before heading into the water:

Know where the nearest flotation device is
Check beach and ocean conditions and know how to escape a rip current
Keep a dedicated Water Watcher on children
Swim near a lifeguard whenever possible
If you hear thunder, get out of the water and seek shelter

And if you see someone struggling in the water, remember:

THROW, DON’T GO.

And be sure to catch our Labor Day Beach Safety Report this Friday at 3 PM on WA1A 107.1 FM with Mike Tyler. We’ll have some important reminders to help you and your family stay safe over the holiday weekend.

Labor Day Weekend Beach Safety Reminder from Drown Zero

Labor Day is one of the last big beach weekends of summer, so before you head out, remember: Know Before You Go.

Check the weather, surf conditions, and beach warning flags
Always swim in front of a lifeguard
Assign a dedicated Water Watcher
Wear sunscreen and stay hydrated
Respect rip currents and know your limits
If someone is in trouble: Throw, Don’t Go call 911, alert a lifeguard, and use flotation
And watch those afternoon storms when thunder roars, go indoors
