We are saddened to share the End of Watch for retired Madison Police K9 Allied at the age of 11.
K9 Allied began his career with the Madison Police Department on May 1, 2016, when he was partnered with Ofc. Jason Baumgart. For seven years they worked side by side serving the community. Allied worked his final shift on February 3, 2023, closing out a distinguished career.
During his time with MPD, Allied served as a patrol K9, assisting with narcotics detection and locating people. Like all police K9s, Allied was more than just a working dog — he was a trusted partner, protector, and loyal teammate to his handler and fellow officers.
After retiring from the department, Allied continued to live with Jason and family, enjoying life on a farm and spending his well-earned retirement with the partner he had served beside for so many years.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to Laura Harrington, whose generous sponsorship through Capital K9s made it possible for MPD to purchase Allied. Her support helped bring an incredible K9 to the department and ultimately to the community he served.
Allied’s distinguished career speaks to the dedication, teamwork, and bond shared between a K9 and their handler. Our thoughts are with Ofc. Baumgart as we remember Allied and the years they served together.
Rest easy, K9 Allied. Thank you for your service. 🐾
