Join us for Art at Noon with Angela Johnson on Wednesday, October 21st at 12 PM! Free and open to the public, no registration required!

We'll be gathering at the Dane Arts Gallery on the first floor of the City-County Building (210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd).

Angela Johnson is a professional artist, creativity coach, and educator based in Madison, Wisconsin. She holds a master’s in Art Education, an MA in Art, and an MFA with a focus in photography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Her photo-based installations explore themes of nature, memory, balance, and the intersection of individual and collective memories. She frequently incorporates scientific concepts into her art, finding that collaborations with other artists and scientists deeply energize her creative process.

We are thrilled to feature Angela Johnson's exhibition, "Elemental Shifts," at the Dane Arts gallery now through January 5, 2027.

Sync Up Madison: A Gathering for the Music Community

Dane Arts is proud to support Sync Up Madison, a new quarterly networking event for music industry professionals, artists, and collaborators in the Madison area. Brought to you by Eleven Music Career Center, Sync Up Madison is an informal, intentional space for the people who make Madison's music scene run — from artists and managers to producers, venue operators, music lawyers, and beyond.

If your creative work touches music in any way, such as film composition, theater, visual art, production, consider this your invitation too.

No panels. No presentations. Just good people, real conversations, and the occasional listening session.

Where Madison's music community comes together.

The creativity, skill, and ingenuity of Dane County Artists is remarkable!

Today we are excited to share the work of Misty Cole , an artist who works primarily in fiber. Cole grew up in rural Louisiana, lived in Maryland for 17 years and is now lives in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin where she is exploring the Midwest with her husband and two sons.

Misty Cole came to quilting as a painter and has been exploring art quilting as her main medium for over twenty years. She combines traditional techniques like hand applique and hand quilting with a contemporary aesthetic and sense of humor.

Looking for a little road trip? You can see a stunning display of 35 aviation themed art quilts created by Misty Cole at her solo show, “The Sky’s the Limit,” on view now at the Kelch Aviation Museum in Brodhead, WI through December 2026. ✈️
