Wisconsin Women in Government

Wisconsin Women in Government Since 1987, WWIG has raised over $1,200,000 for scholarships and programs. Proceeds from our annual recognition dinner benefit these scholarship efforts.

Wisconsin Women in Government was founded in 1987 to celebrate and support the talented women who choose a career in government service. Each year, WWIG awards scholarships to women pursuing undergraduate and post-graduate study at any Wisconsin institution of higher education. Scholarships are also provided for young women to attend Badger Girls State and to the student elected Governor. In addit

ion, WWIG works in cooperation with the La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to offer the "Women in Government Graduate Seminar." The program is designed to emphasize skills for high-level managers, management techniques, effective networks, and strategies to achieve professional success.

We are pleased to announce that applications are NOW OPEN for the Wisconsin Women in Government (WWIG) 2026-2027 Undergraduate Scholarship program!

Our program is designed to provide financial support to young women who intend to pursue careers in public service, public administration, or government affairs. Students identifying as female and facing financial hardship are encouraged to apply.
