***When you apply, you will receive an email within 1-3 days confirming we received your application. Bluegrass Pug Rescue, Inc.,(BPR) is a community based, statewide organization with a mission of rescuing Pugs. BPR does not have a facility where Pugs can be seen prior to a potential adopter completing the application approval process. BPR receives Pugs needing homes from situations where it has been found the Pug needs a home. BPR takes in Pugs found as strays, dropped off at shelters, left at groomers or vets, or where a change in family situations such as a move, illness or divorce, has caused the family to no longer be able to provide a home for their pug. Once in rescue, the Pug is placed with a foster home and taken to the vet for vaccinations, heartworm test, spay or neuter and any needed medical treatment. All known medical conditions will be disclosed prior to adoption. The first priority is to get the pugs into the program and into a foster home as quickly as possible. The ultimate goal is to place the Pug in a safe, loving, forever home.

😄WHO’S THE MAN WITH THE SMILE!?😁

Oh, that’s Slimp #690! Slimp is a three year old guy all the way from California. He is a social butterfly who can charm the pants off any dog or human with those pearly whites!

While Slimp loves to make his rounds, he does it at a little slower pace than some pugs due to luxaring patellas (bad knees). His condition is not painful to him, and the vet does not recommend surgery since he gets around just fine. But he will require a less active home, no excessive running or jumping, and no long/ strenuous walks on the beach.

Slimp needs neutered so he is currently on medical hold, but he’ll be ready to (slowly) walk into your life once he’s healed. Could Slimp be your guy?🕺🏿

🐾Say hello to Francine #694!🎀

Francine is around three years old, and while you can’t tell from photos, she’s a wee little thing — a “pocket pug”, if you will! Don’t let her size fool you, though. This girl comes with a big, spunky personality and enough energy to keep you smiling all day.

Francine adores other dogs (hasn’t been around cats yet) and loves every person she meets. Her world‑class floppy ears and silly facial expressions are just part of her charm.

🌟 What Francine’s Been Working On

Great on a leash — She struts like she owns the sidewalk.

Potty training progress — She’s doing wonderfully and learning fast.

Medical update — She still needs to be spayed, but once she’s cleared, she’ll be ready to find her forever family.

UPDATE: Archie is off the market!!🎉🐾 His adoption is pending!

Welcome Archie #682 to BPR!

This handsome two year old fellow was surrendered to BPR for allegedly not getting along with another dog in the home. However, his skin was in pretty bad shape when we got him, so maybe one irritation was leading to another.🤷🏻‍♀️

Archie is currently on medical hold, but we’ll keep you posted on when he’s adoptable! If you’re interested in this young man, complete an application at bluegrasspugrescue.org!

Welcome Sophie #683 to BPR!

Sophie is a 7-year-old beauty is a true cuddle pug who LOVES to be with her humans. She has lots of energy, adores her toys, and will give any grown man a run for his money in the snoring category.😴

Sophie recently had surgery to remove bladder stones, and she’s feeling much better. However, she will require a special diet for the rest of her life to prevent the stones from coming back.

Say hello to Yondu #693!🐾

Yondu came all the way from California to join BPR. And we know it was fate because he was already wearing our colors! 💙

Yondu is five years old, playful, and full of energy! He loves people and does well with other dogs. Yondu recently had his neuter surgery, but once he’s all healed up, he’ll be ready for adoption.

He’s clearly a looker, and he’s going to be looking very hard for his perfect family. Could that be you?
