🦅 Congratulations to the City of Prospect on the installation of its new Eagle Scout Project Recognition Display at Prospect City Hall!

Completed this week, the display honors 44 Eagle Scout candidates who have completed Eagle Scout service projects within the City of Prospect since 2011. These projects represent thousands of hours of service dedicated to improving the community and making a lasting impact.

A special thank you to Steve Matly for producing and donating the mounted Eagle medallions that help make this tribute possible.

This display serves as a lasting reminder of the leadership, service, and commitment embodied by Eagle Scouts and the positive difference they make in their communities every day.

🐉 Wow! This spring, our Cub Scouts embarked on Cub Quest: Return of the Dragon—and it turns out we weren't the only ones enjoying a dragon-themed adventure!

A new children's novel, George Goodwin, Dragon Slayer: A Scouting Legend, blends Scouting, courage, teamwork, and yes... dragons! The story follows Scouts who discover that being prepared and working together can help them overcome even the biggest challenges.

Looks like dragons are having a big year in Scouting! 🦅⚔️🐲

Troop 4025 is responding to the flooding in Southern Indiana yesterday, June 9th. We want to recognize their service to their community and give other Scouts and Scouters in our council the chance to aid them in their efforts.

A catastrophic flash flood struck southern Indiana on June 9, 2025, burying the towns of Lanesville and Corydon under more than eight inches of rain in a matter of hours. Streets turned into raging rivers, cars were swept away, and residents were forced onto their rooftops waiting for rescue boats. Live power lines fell into the floodwaters as 500-gallon propane tanks floated through neighborhoods, creating life-threatening conditions for both citizens and emergency crews. Troop 4025 has dropped off 2 pallets of water 4000lbs and dropped off the first installment of cleaning supplies this morning. We know that over 20 basements were pumped out in Laneville and over 40 buildings and businesses have been impacted with more of the same in Corydon. (Over 100 total) They are working shifts at THCC to collect cleaning supplies and funds to support neighbors, friends, and classmates.

Needs/Support: Any donations for cleaning supplies is welcome. You are also welcome to purchase these items and bring them to THCC-Tunnel Hill Christian Church. We will be making bulk deliveries to Lanesville, which will be split and delivered to Corydon the same as the water drops.

Schedule and Needs: Adults and Scouts. Please support some of these shifts so that the few of us that are working these are not overwhelmed.

🦅 The impact of Scouting lasts a lifetime.

A new national study shows what many of us already know: Eagle Scouts are more likely to become leaders in their communities, succeed in their careers, volunteer their time, and stay actively engaged as citizens.

Behind every Eagle Scout project, campout, and leadership role is a young person learning skills that will serve them for the rest of their life.

We're proud of the Scouts in our council who are building character, confidence, and leadership every day—and of the Eagle Scouts whose impact continues long after their time in the program.

🇺🇸 Scouts of the Lincoln Heritage Council: We have a challenge for you!

As we count down to America250, let's make a visible impact in our communities by replacing worn, faded, or weathered American flags.

From now through June 26, 2026, we encourage every pack, troop, crew, and ship to find opportunities to serve at:
⭐ Schools
⭐ Churches
⭐ Community centers
⭐ City halls
⭐ Parks
⭐ Local businesses

Make it a meaningful experience by:
🔹 Wearing your Scout uniform proudly
🔹 Conducting a respectful flag retirement and replacement ceremony
🔹 Sharing the importance of the American flag and what it represents

📸 We want to see your Scouts in action!

Share your photos and videos in the comments and show how Scouting is making a difference across Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Let's highlight the leadership, service, patriotism, and community spirit that define our movement.

Together, let's create a wave of service across the council as we help our communities prepare for America's 250th birthday!

What was your greatest camp cooking success and camp cooking failure?

Most campout food can be delicious and good for you at the same time - with a few tweaks.
