Before the first needle ever touched skin, the team at Velvet Needle Tattoo Studio had already shown the kind of heart that can't be taught.

As a brand new shop, they chose to dedicate their entire July Charity Flash Event to supporting You're Fighting with Riley. And when we say they gave, we mean they gave everything.

Every single dollar from every tattoo went directly to our mission. They didn't keep a penny. Not for the ink. Not for their time. Not for the supplies. Not for the overhead of running a brand new business. They simply wanted to make a difference.

Because of their incredible generosity, and the amazing people who came out to get tattooed, Velvet Needle raised $1,300, enough to sponsor 65 chemo care bags for people beginning their fight against cancer.

That means 65 people will receive a reminder that they are seen, they are loved, and they are not fighting alone.

There are simply no words big enough to express our gratitude to the artists and staff at Velvet Needle, and to every person who walked through their doors to support this event. You didn't just get amazing artwork. You helped bring comfort, hope, and encouragement to people during one of the hardest moments of their lives.

All throughout the month of July, our incredible friends at The Velvet Needle Tattoo Studio are hosting a Charity Flash Event to benefit You're Fighting With Riley!

🎉 It's finally time!

💜 One bag. One note. One reminder that someone cares.

When a person hears the words, "You have cancer," their world changes in an instant.The appointments, the treatments, the fear, the uncertainty. It can be an incredibly lonely road.

That is why we created the You're Fighting with Riley Chemo Care Bag Project.

Because no one should have to face chemotherapy feeling forgotten.

Today, we are asking for your help.

Through our sponsorship platform, you can sponsor a chemo care bag that will be placed directly into the hands of someone beginning their fight against cancer. Even more special, you can include a personal message of encouragement when you sponsor a bag. Every note will be hand-written and included inside the bag, giving someone a tangible reminder that complete strangers are standing beside them during one of the hardest moments of their life.

A few kind words may seem small to you, but to someone sitting in a treatment chair, they can mean everything.

We are proud to share that we have completed our first 100 bags, but our mission is far from over. Our next goal is to create 100 chemo care bags specifically for children facing chemotherapy.

Children who should be worrying about playgrounds, birthday parties, and summer adventures instead find themselves facing hospital rooms, needles, and treatments. We want to bring them comfort, encouragement, and a reminder that they are surrounded by love and support.

Today, we are celebrating a huge milestone... the first 100 chemo care bags are officially COMPLETE! ❤️

What started as a simple idea has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined, and none of it would have been possible without each and every one of you. Whether you donated, sponsored a bag, purchased items from our wish list, attended an event, shared our posts, or simply encouraged us along the way, you helped make this dream a reality.

We are truly overwhelmed by the kindness, generosity, and support this community has shown. Watching this project grow so quickly and touch so many hearts has been nothing short of incredible.

Keep an eye on our page because we will be posting a video very soon showing the completed bags and everything that will be included in them!

We are also excited to announce that we will be hosting a bag assembly event where volunteers can help us put together the first 100 bags before they are delivered. We are currently working out the details and expect the event to take place during the second week of July. As soon as everything is finalized, we will share the date, time, and location.

We would like to give a very special thank you to Stephanie C Tabor . Stephanie not only came out to support Riley Ashbaugh and Summer with making bracelets during her Beads of Hope bracelet-making event, but she also personally purchased a tremendous amount of items for the care bags. Her generosity helped us finish the first 100 bags and even gave us a head start on the next 100. Thank you, Stephanie, for believing in this mission and helping us make a difference in the lives of those facing chemotherapy. ❤️

And we're not stopping here.

Our next goal is to create 100 chemotherapy care bags specifically for children. As we work with medical professionals and caregivers to finalize the contents of these pediatric bags, we will continue sharing updates and opportunities for everyone to get involved.

We are going to need your help once again to make this next dream a reality. If the support we've received so far is any indication, we know we can do amazing things together.
