On May 6–7, 2026, organizers from across our network came together in Sacramento to deepen their leadership, strengthen relationships and build power rooted in faith, purpose and community.

At Organizers Bootcamp, participants grounded themselves in their moral and spiritual foundations, built toward a clearer understanding of their strategic self-interest (SSI), and strengthened the organizing discipline needed to transform relationships with clergy, congregations, and communities into lasting power.

This recap captures moments of learning, fellowship, reflection, and collective commitment as we continue building leaders prepared to organize for dignity, justice, and thriving communities across California.

As immigration legal services face uncertainty amid Santa Clara county budget cuts, on Tuesday, May 26, People Acting in Community Together (PACT) brought together faith leaders, organizers, community members, and County Supervisors Betty Duong and Sylvia Arenas for a multi-faith gathering grounded in care, and collective learning and action.

Hosted at First Unitarian Church of San José, the gathering created space to better understand the challenges our immigrant neighbors and families are facing, along with the importance of protecting access to legal support and policies that keep families together, including AB 2465: No Taxpayer Dollars for Family Separation.

People power looks like this: communities coming together to care for one another and organize for the common good.

The No Taxpayer Dollars for Family Separation Act (AB 2465), authored by Assemblymember Liz Ortega , has officially passed the Assembly floor! This moment reflects what is possible when communities, people of faith, workers, organizers, and neighbors come together to speak up for dignity and the sacredness of families.
At its core, AB 2465 is rooted in a simple belief: our public resources should not support systems that harm or separate our communities.

As the bill moves to its next step, stay connected and continue taking action with us. This work continues as we continue building people power rooted in care, courage, and the belief that all families are sacred.

We grieve alongside the San Diego Muslim community following the tragic act of violence at the Islamic Center of San Diego (ICSD) that took the lives of three people. A house of worship is sacred ground, a place meant for peace, prayer, and refuge.

Support is available through the ICSD Victim & Family Support Fund for those who are able to contribute.

Together, with San Diego Organizing Project (SDOP), we invite our neighbors to continue to surround this community with presence, dignity, and collective care.
