It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our founder, Carl Anthony.

Carl was a giant of the Environmental Justice Movement and a lifelong fighter for racial, social, economic, and regional equity. Nationally and internationally, he was a recognized writer and thinker who inspired a generation to understand the integral connections between the exploitation of poor people and people of color, and the degradation of our planet and its natural resources.

Rest in power, Carl.

"If and when self-driven vehicles become widespread, research and common sense both suggest they will cause car use to spike. The resulting logjams would be calamitous for cities’ quality of life as well as their economic health — unless public leaders enact preemptive policies to keep people moving."

Autonomous vehicles from companies like Waymo and Zoox are set to trigger an increase in car usage that clogs urban streets. Cities should prepare now.
