Brandworkers

Brandworkers We support local food manufacturing workers organize their workplaces into strong, worker-led unions.

*English below*

Brandworkers is an organization of food factory workers building a union with the Industrial Workers of the World. Through co-workers uniting, we are winning dignified jobs and building power across the industry. Food factory companies are taking advantage of us workers who feed New York City, especially Black, immigrant and Indigenous workers, workers of color, women, transgender and gender nonconforming workers. The food manufacturing industry is a part of the racial and patriarchal capitalism that has exploited us for hundreds of years. The industry was built out of the roots of plantation slavery, theft of indigenous land, and imperialism. The lack of unions in this industry and others, especially unions that are led and lived by workers every day, allows companies to exploit workers without consequences. Company owners don’t allow workers to live with dignity and keep workers from taking action to change our society. By uniting as workers who feed New York City, we take action together to speak up about injustice, demand what our families and communities need, and hold food factories accountable. Join us if you want to unite with coworkers at work and across the food manufacturing industry to build a solidarity union centered on racial and gender justice. If you don’t work in food manufacturing, but want to build a world where we all have enough, join in solidarity by donating, volunteering, sharing our messages, and supporting our actions online and in person.

This May Day, support the people who make New York possible: the workers who make our food!

We’re raising $15,000 to uplift worker-led organizing inside NYC’s food factories. These workers rise early, stand long, and feed a city that often doesn’t see them, but can’t live without them. Your support is more critical than ever, as we fight through an administration that is targeting the very communities that build the base of the food workers in our city and across the country.

They work while the city sleeps. They organize through exhaustion. And they keep pushing for a future that works for all of us. Support our work at the link in our bio, or give here: www.givebutter.com/2026MayDay
