Fertile Ground is a monthly new works series for emerging choreographers and experimenting, established professionals. Six artists present a work-in-progress and receive audience-driven feedback in a post-performance discussion (with wine!) moderated by Artistic Director, Valerie Green. With your constructive input you can help artists cultivate and grow their work!

✨ This is a guided somatic movement experience designed to help you slow down, connect with your body, and explore the emotions and energy you may be carrying.

Through movement, breath, expression, and reflection, we create space to release tension, become more present, and reconnect with yourself. Each workshop is shaped by the people who are in the room.

🚨🚨 LAST CALL FOR APPLICATIONS!!🚨 🚨

Digging in Group (D.I.G.) Artist Residency at Green Space applications close on August 11th!

D.I.G. will provide 8 choreographers with an excellent opportunity to develop and share new work together during 8 work sessions, 2 personal & professional development workshops, ending in TWO culminating performances, and a post residency recap session.

D.I.G. is about deepening our creative process while building relationships with fellow NYC choreographers and dancers. Each session will be moderated by a rotating member of the Green Space Advisory Board. During these sessions choreographers will present their work at various stages to their cohort, followed by a moderated peer discussion, enabling choreographers to receive informative feedback in a supportive environment.

Artists will present their work at TWO performances. 4 choreographers each having two evenings between May 13-16th, 2025 (Program A - Thurs./Sat. and Program B Fri./Sun). These performances will be produced with full production values including publicity, marketing support, programs, lighting, sound system, box office, house management, and artist stipend of $500.

Skimming the Surface® workshops are back! We invite you to join us Tuesday, August 25th at Green Space for our next iteration.

Skimming the Surface®: Movement Healing Workshops aim to service adult and youth populations that may be overcoming diverse forms of trauma and stress through somatic based expressive movement exercises. These workshops will help participants release blocked and repressed energy causing stress or discomfort in one’s life by integrating movement, feelings, and emotions.

This workshop will be held from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Green Space with a donation-based, pay-what-you-can entry fee. RSVPs required; please email [email protected] to reserve your spot! Link in bio for more details.

Fertile Ground is a non-curated showcase for emerging and/or established artists. The evening consists of work shown by six choreographers, followed by a moderated discussion that integrates the choreographers, dancers, and audience members. Participation by the choreographer is required.
