BAC Local 7

BAC Local 7 Local 7 is a Mega Local that was established by the merger of several individual BAC Allied Crafts into one autonomous unit.

As far back as the 1800s, North American masonry-trowel trade’s workers protected their wages and working conditions by forming unions and associations. In 1823, for example, journeymen stone cutters in New York City went on strike in support of the 10-hour workday, and in 1835 masons in Troy, New York went on strike for higher wages. The leadership and members of the BAC have always supported the

middle class by helping to establish the 8-hour work day, 5-day work week, implementing health insurance and pensions for it’s members, negotiating higher wages, teaching safety and related training, supporting the family and medical leave act and encouraging fair treatment for women, people of all ethnic backgrounds, and those with disabilities.
