CASA of Allen & Putnam Counties, Ohio is a program of Crime Victim Services, Inc. CASA volunteers are a powerful voice for children.

CASA is a national program dedicated to providing quality court advocacy services to abused and neglected children under the jurisdiction of the Dependency Court. The mission of CASA is simple – “to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes.”

CASA makes a difference in the life of a child. In an overburdened child welfare system, the unique one-on-one relationship that forms between the CASA volunteer and dependent child is often the most stable, positive relationship the child has. They make recommendations to the court that are in the child’s best interest and advise the court about what the child needs and wants, while providing the emotional support, stability and caring that every child deserves.

Our staff:
🔴 Attends every court hearing with you
🔵 Attends professional meetings with you
🔴 Goes to all initial home visits with you, and any additional visits you request support for
🔵 Assists in court report writing
🔴 Maintains a minimum of monthly contact with you
🔵 Has an open-door policy. Come in when you want to share wins and frustrations. We got you!

♥️ One more CASA Volunteer has joined our team and our mission to stand in the gap and advocate for the abused and neglected children in Allen County! 🎊

These moments of swearing-in a new volunteer with Judge Todd Kohlreiser at The Probate & Juvenile Courts of Allen County, Ohio are always an honor to witness. They may happen in the blink of an eye. But the significance is great. It is this moment that those who we have spent the past several weeks training and getting to know get to make their official oath to do the work. From this point on, they are able and ready to take on their first case. They have the opportunity to finally put into action all they have been learning and desiring to do for the past couple of months.

🍂🌻 Celebrate the season at the Jackson Street Community Gardens!

Join Activate Allen County for the upcoming South Jackson Community Garden Fall Fest — a great opportunity to enjoy the fall season, connect with neighbors and experience some of the exciting improvements made to this community space!

The City of Lima is proud to have recently completed a new gathering space at the Jackson Street Community Gardens, creating a clean, accessible area designed for community use.

Improvements include:
🌳 A new concrete pad and shelter
♿ Improved sidewalks and curbs
🚗 Two ADA-accessible parking spaces
🚻 Two ADA family restrooms
🧺 Four picnic tables coming soon

We’re excited to see this improved space put to use!
