Lima Sister Cities Association

Lima Sister Cities Association Lima's Sister Cities Association was formed in 1995 to establish sister city relationships worldwide The Association aims to:

1.

Introduce the Lima community to the people, culture and economy of comparable foreign cites.

2. Facilitate the development of extensive personal relations between a cross-section of the Lima social and economic community and its sister cities.

3. Develop programs and activities that disseminate information about the sister cities throughout Lima and which encourage discussion and learning abou

t our sister cities across the full range of public, private and business institutions within the area.

4. Secure sufficient financial support to ensure the full participation of representatives of all parts of the Lima community associated with sister city relations.

We met with Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce President Josh Unterbrink who gave us a tour of the chamber office, talked about what the chamber does for Lima.Ohio, and then gave us a tour of the city club where we got a sky view of Spring & Main and showed us the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center of Lima/Allen County.
We ended our tour by visiting Visit Greater Lima .

We finished the day and tour of Lima by spending a few hours at the Lima Aquatic Park enjoying the cool water and sunshine before everyone went home with their homestay hosts for their weekend adventures.

After our visit to the museum , we went to the Lima Sister Cities Japanese Garden where we had a sign unveiling, which was part of a local Eagle scouts community project. He has put many, many hours into the history of our garden and made sure it was all compiled and easy to read and understand format and then preformed the sign installation for the sign aswell. He worked with our own Keiko Hahn on this project for the history.
The local news Your Hometown Stations - Lima Ohio came out as well in air to nice informative, piece about this whole unveiling on the news.
We were also honored to have a representative in attendance from Senator Bernie Moreno's office

We started our morning meeting with our host families where they dropped off the delegates we loaded in to the van and headed to Wapakoneta snacking on munchkins from Dunkin' Lima where our first stop was the Dollar Tree where they found fun goodies to bring back home.
