The Importance of Donations: How Your Support Helps Rescue Animals
If you care about animals — especially animals who've survived neglect, abuse, or abandonment, you probably wish you could do more to protect them. Every day, we received calls, texts and emails about cats and dogs needing help. They arrive traumatized, malnourished, and in desperate need of medical care and sanctuary.
Maybe you’ve a headline or two — another dog found, just skin and bones... or a cat found under a porch with a new litter of kittens. Or even the horror stories that we try to prevent from the public seeing but we still address. It's upsetting and it stays with you, because you know these animals deserve better.
You don’t need to look away or feel powerless. Because there is something you can do – you can be part of the solution by donating to reputable and accredited organizations like Deb's Dogs that rescue, rehabilitate, advocate and care for the animals.
Where Your Donations Go
Every contribution is put to work to give the best possible life to these animals. The donations help cover everything from daily food and supplies to vet upkeep, staff training, and outreach; however, one of our biggest obstacles is Veterinary Care and Medical Treatment.
Your donations help provide veterinary care to animals that often arrive in poor health. Many rescued animals need urgent medical attention – surgeries, dental work, or ongoing treatments. Your support funds regular vet check-ups, medications, and emergency care to keep each animal healthy. This medical care is often lifesaving for animals coming from abusive situations.

Deb's Dogs is an all volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization in Lima, Ohio. We rely on donations to provide vet care and supplies for our rescue animals. We have been rescuing animals in the Allen County area since 2008. Deb's Dogs rescues the stray, sick and injured animals in the area. Once they come into our care they go to the vet for necessary treatment. The animals are then placed with a family in a foster home. We do not have a facility. After the animals are healthy they are available for adoption to good homes. All rescue pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption or if too young for surgery will be available for our foster to adopt program.
