Choosing a Halloween costume for your pet? Here are some things to keep in mind:
• Measure your pet carefully to ensure the proper size, and make sure their breathing, circulation, movement and vision are not impaired.
• Avoid boots or shoes unless your pet can walk in them naturally without falling or panicking.
• Check the outfit for buttons, beads, sequins, or dangling pieces that your pet can chew off and swallow, which can cause choking or severe intestinal blockages.
• Pets already wear a natural fur coat, making them vulnerable to overheating in heavy or multi-layered fabrics.
• Watch for skin irritation or fabric allergies, and opt for simple alternatives like a festive bandana or collar if your pet dislikes full outfits.
• Make sure the costume allows you to clip a leash or harness securely so your pet cannot bolt into traffic if startled.
• Try it on your pet early so it will be used to it by Halloween;
• And keep an eye on your pet to make sure it is not frightened or stressed.
Following these simple guidelines will help everyone have a happy Halloween.

Keep carving tools and pumpkin seeds out of reach, supervise pets around lit candles, and remember that plain pumpkin flesh is safe in moderation. Avoid letting pets chew on the stem or any moldy pumpkin. Keep the season festive with a little extra pet safety! 🧡

• Cord & Battery Safety: Use heavy-duty cord covers to prevent chewing, and keep lithium-ion batteries (in phones and portable chargers) away from pets where punctures can cause combustion.
• Fireplace Buffers: Maintain a pet-free zone of at least 3 feet around fireplaces and space heaters.
