HaPpY tAiLs is a 501c3 org who helps shelter/rescue/stray/owned animals in times of need. All proceeds go directly into helping local shelter dogs.

WHAT WE DO:

•Donate medicine, medical supplies and vaccines to local shelters

•Contribute to progams that offer low/no cost spay neutering.

•Pay pull fees to get dogs out of high kill shelters in Lima and surrounding counties

•Transport dogs

•Foster and find fitting homes for shelter dogs

•Sponsor spay/neuter surgeries and any other surgery needed for shelter dogs such as cherry eye, tumor removal, leg/hip surgery etc. Without the surgeries these dogs may otherwise be overlooked and spend their lives in a shelter or be euthanized.

•Socialize and exercise dogs for easier adoption

•Pay for vet care as funds often run thin for many shelters

•Use Facebook to draw attention to available dogs

•Donate to shelters in need of items such as food, ceiling fans, blankets, newspaper, beds, water pails, toys etc.

•Fundraise, fundraise, FUNDRAISE! Our biggest fundraiser is our annual Pumpkin Roll Sales. 10-15 of us get together and thanks to a local church we are able to bake over 300 pumpkin rolls in 2 or 3 saturdays which we then sell during the Thanksgiving/Christmas season. The pumpkin rolls are an area favorite and we often have more orders than we can keep up with!

REMINDER: We sent out emails or texts to those who are scheduled to pick up their pumpkin rolls tomorrow from 1-2:30 at Dot’s Pet Center INSIDE! Dot’s is located at 2411 Shawnee Rd., in the Plaza.

We will have a few extra there if anyone didn’t get their orders in. $18 each and are frozen. They freeze up to a year and thaw very quickly once sliced. Great for the holidays or as gifts, as they are in decorative wrap also!

Where is Hank’s person? 💙

Seriously, how is this boy STILL looking for a home?!

Hank, aka Hankie Doodle! 🐾 He’s a big, goofy, blue-eyed, 85-pound lovebug who deserves a family of his own. Did we mention he is a goofball? Worth mentioning twice🤣

Hank is around 1–2 years old, neutered, vaccinated, on heartworm prevention, house-trained, crate-trained, AND he’s had some professional training. He’s got so much going for him, but finding the right home for a bully breed can be HARD. 😔

Hank needs someone willing to look past the label and see HIM. ❤️

Now, Hank does need the right setup. We want to be upfront about that because finding the right home is more important than finding just any home.

🏡 What Hank needs:

🐶A secure, physical fenced yard

🐶To be the only pet in the home — no cats or other animals. He does well with other dogs for walks and even on a car rides but he plays very rough off leash with other dogs and has not had a successful play time with another dog. We believe once he gets a bit older this will be a possibility!

🐶 An active family, willing to take him on daily walks and car rides. He LOVES both!

🐶No kiddos. Hank is a big boy who sometimes gets the zoomies and may knock a child down. He is a gentleman for pets etc with children.

🐶A family willing to continue working with him and provide structure, consistency, and love

Please, if you can’t adopt, or Hank isn’t a fit for your family, SHARE HIS POST! You never know who might see him and fall in love. Someone out there is looking for their next best friend, and maybe they just haven’t met Hank yet. 💙

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all who helped bake pumpkin rolls Sat! Was a rough start with the ovens not keeping correct temperature but once we got that figured out, we were able to make 148 rolls! We couldn’t do it without all of you volunteers and this is a big fundraiser for us.

A special thank you to Cable Rd. Alliance Church for letting us use your kitchen and to the Shawnee HS Red Cross committee for sending groups throughout the day! We appreciate you! 🎃

This little bug is Tucker and he needs a new home.

He is around 9 and is a Minpin Chihuahua mix. He does well with other dogs, cats and children who are respectful. He loves to play and go for walks. Tucker does wear a belly band because sometimes he tries to mark. He is fixed and vaccinated.
