9th Parachute Battalion-WWII Living Historians/Reenactors

9th Parachute Battalion-WWII Living Historians/Reenactors Our impression is of a British Airborne paratrooper during WWII. We portray the 9th Parachute Battalion, A company, 2nd platoon.

The 9th Parachute Battalion Reenactors is made up of members from Michigan and Indiana. Some members participate in other eras of reenacting, such as Civil War. We also have different WWII impressions: Corps of Military Police (Red Caps), British Infantry, and Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Our main focus however is the 9th Para. We participate in tactical events (no public) and living histor

y events (public welcome). We have done presentations at schools, educating children about the equipment used and the history of WWII. We are part of a group that sets up at the "Cotswald Cottage", an original British cottage at Henry Ford/Greenfield Village, for the "Winter Nights" event that takes place in December. We class ourselves as a learning unit and we endeavor to expand our knowledge at every event. We enjoy taking time to listen to veterans and we hope to share the story of the "Greatest Generation" with the next generation.
