Help secure funding for the Natioal Ocean Science Bowl - an academic competition and program that addresses a national gap in environmental and earth sciences in public education. Per request from a LHS team member:

"My name is Mohita Chepeni and I'm a sophomore at Lexington High school. I'm also part of my schools A Team for NOSB, or National Ocean Sciences Bowl. Funding for NOSB has been cut, meaning that even though my team won at the Blue Lobster Bowl (the regionals competition), we don't have a nationals to compete at!"

Please take a minute to sign the petition.

BRING NOSB BACK!! 🌊🐟

From Climate.gov to the National Climate Assessment,
climate information you can trust is being hidden, erased,
and replaced with misinformation. We’re not letting
that happen. We’re building Climate.us—independent,
nonprofit, and immune to politics. But we can’t do it
without you. We’ve brought back the NCA5, and are
raising funds to rescue vital resources, rebuild tools, and
reunite our team of experts. Help spread the word about
our mission—because the truth still matters.

LexCAN supports Lexington Town Meeting Articles 23, 31, and 34! Join us with your support by signing this petition NOW as these articles will come up on Monday, April 13: https://forms.gle/s2iHnWKUpiuTjeNF6

Article 23 seeks an appropriation to support the transition to standardized bins and automated collection—proven steps to improve efficiency and safety, expand recycling and composting, and enable more choices for competitive contract negotiations.

Article 31 is the essential policy framework that makes these trash management improvements effective. It updates outdated bylaw language that treats disposal as "free," allowing flexible fee structures that incentivize waste and cost reduction.

Article 34 is a citizens’ petition to reduce single-use plastic waste from restaurant takeout orders.

Contact your Town Meeting members via email and tell them why you support each article. It is easy to contact your Town Meeting representatives. A single email to [email protected] (where X is your Lexington precinct number, 1, 2, etc.) will reach all your representatives. Here’s a link with more detail about emailing town meeting members.

Savor the Savings: Energy Wisdom & Local Flavors!

Join LexCAN and Lexington HeatSmart on Friday, March 6, from 7:00–8:30 PM

➡️ at the Lexington Community Center Dining Room for a free Dine & Learn community buffet featuring food from a local restaurant for Lexington Chinese Speaking residents.

Learn how to save money and help the environment by taking advantage of Mass Save incentives for energy and fuel costs, insulation, heat pumps and more.

After the presentation, you’ll have the chance to speak one-on-one with HeatSmart advisors about your specific home and where you are on your clean energy journey.

This event also marks the launch of a new Mandarin-language HeatSmart offering. Native Chinese speakers who would be more comfortable learning about clean energy and weatherization programs in Mandarin are warmly encouraged to attend.

Free to attend, but registration is required so we can order the right amount of food. Capacity is limited to 80 guests.
