💫 Greater Boston Nonprofit Spotlight: Dance is for every body.

Abilities Dance is reimagining what performance art can look like by putting disability justice, inclusion and opportunity center stage. Through professional opportunities for disabled and diverse artists, inclusive dance education and advocacy, they’re helping challenge outdated barriers in the arts and beyond.

We’re excited to shine our latest Nonprofit Spotlight on their work—and the impact they’re making across Greater Boston and Massachusetts.

💥Executive Directors: There’s still time to join us tomorrow!
We’re excited for tomorrow’s LAP Information Session and the conversation ahead.

You’ll hear directly from LAP alumni about their experience—and from LAP founder and program director Margo Kelly about the thinking behind the program and what makes it different.

We’re incredibly proud to have Margo leading LAP. A longtime NPN board member, Margo brings deep experience developing and coaching nonprofit leaders, including her work as Lead Executive Coach for Harvard Kennedy School’s Achieving Excellence Program for nonprofit CEOs and senior leaders.

Session will be more conversation than presentation, with plenty of time for Q&A.

📅 Tuesday, August 25 | 1–2 p.m. | Virtual

What a way to start the week—Monday, August 17 is National Nonprofit Day! 💜

Today is a day to recognize the nonprofits that make our communities stronger, healthier and better places to live and work.

Nonprofits touch our lives in more ways than we may realize—from arts and culture, education and healthcare to food assistance, housing, youth programs, environmental causes and so much more.

They bring people together, respond when communities need support and help make sure resources reach those who need them most.

And behind every mission are people making it happen—staff, volunteers, Board members, donors, partners and supporters.

Today, we celebrate and thank nonprofits everywhere for all they do for our communities. Happy National Nonprofit Day! 💜

This month, Nonprofit Net takes a closer look at the Massachusetts findings from the Urban Institute’s annual nonprofit survey—and the trends are worth paying attention to.

Spoiler alert: Funding shifts. Increased demand. Low reserves.

One encouraging sign? The number of Massachusetts nonprofits with 50 or more employees is growing.

What do these trends mean for nonprofits and the leaders navigating what’s ahead?
