Giving Soles Africa is committed to providing underserved children in the African diaspora with quality footwear.

Giving Soles Africa (GSA) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide underserved schoolchildren in the African diaspora with quality footwear. Since 2019, we have distributed thousands of pairs of shoes to schoolchildren in the United States, Ghana, South Africa, Burundi, Jamaica, Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya. Also, GSA has built strategic corporate sponsorships with Marathon Sports and Hoka, and maintains partnerships with high schools in the Boston area, like the Fessenden School, the Winsor School, the Roxbury Latin School, and Boston College High School. With each pair of shoes that we donate, GSA looks to improve access to both education and shoe comfort around the African diaspora.

Since 2019, GSA has worked to improve access to education and shoe comfort worldwide through our donations of quality footwear.

As of August 2026, GSA has collected and donated 4,299 pairs of shoes to school children, raised over $33,000 to help cover our shipment costs, donated shoes to 12 different nonprofits that assist school children, and lastly, GSA has impacted 10 countries in the African Diaspora.

Last Thursday, Giving Soles Africa partnered once again with Jean Appolon Expressions to distribute 100 pairs of quality footwear to Haiti. These 100 pairs of shoes will support teenage schoolchildren in Haiti and protect their feet during all of their academic and extracurricular endeavors. Our partnership with Jean Appolon Expressions well represents our commitment to our mission of supporting schoolchildren from all around the diaspora and protecting their feet, and this distribution only serves to further that synergy.

This Wednesday, 461 pairs of shoes were picked up by Impact Senegal's team. In the coming months, these shoes will be distributed at various Light of the World schools in and around Dakar. In order to prepare for this major distribution, the GSA team worked hard day in and day out to sort, tag, and box all of the 461 pairs of shoes and then transport the shoes to be picked up. As always, the GSA team is extremely thankful to our donors who make these distributions possible and our partners for facilitating the events.

Check out our 461 pair shoe shipment being packed and loaded for a trip to Senegal. In the coming months, these shoes will be shipped and eventually distributed to many schoolchildren in Senegal by nonprofit organization Impact Senegal.

Today, Giving Soles Africa co-founder Denmark Chirunga prepared 30 boxes of shoes containing 461 pairs of shoes for an upcoming Impact Senegal shoe distribution. These 461 pairs of shoes will support hundreds of young schoolchildren in Senegal, and enhance their ability to access education in their communities. Actions like these are what helps GSA efficiently distribute thousands shoes across the world and support so many different communities. Recently, the GSA team receieved 42 pairs of quality running footwear from Byron and his team at Puma. We are especially thankful for these pairs of shoes given that we have multiple upcoming major distributions in Haiti and Senegal with organizations Jean Appolon Expressions and Impact Senegal. Without supporters like Byron from Puma, we wouldn't be able to support so many communities around the African diaspora, so we appreciate donations like these that provide us with so many quality pairs of shoes.

Since 2019, GSA has worked to improve access to education and shoe comfort worldwide through our donations of quality footwear.

We would like to share a few statistics that quantify our impact.

Thanks to the generosity of our public donors, schools, and corporate partners, GSA has collected and donated over 3,700 pairs of shoes to school children, raised over $30,000 to help cover our shipment costs, donated shoes to 12 different nonprofits that assist school children, and lastly, GSA has impacted 10 countries in the African Diaspora.

On Tuesday, June 28th, the GSA team delivered 66 pairs of quality running shoes and rainboots to the Cambridge office of the Rift Valley Children's Village (RVCV). These shoes will eventually be shipped to Tanzania, where they will be distributed to the children living in the RVCV community. As longstanding partners with RVCV, this deliver of shoes serves as a strong continuation of our partnership and well represents the power of GSA's mission. With these shoes, the schoolchildren living in the village will not only have better shoes protecting their feet, but also have an easier time accessing education.
