Last night, Nym Cooke inspired us with the hilarious story of creating a 38-minute black-and-white mobster movie with 57(!) other Lexington High School students in 1967. 🎥

Seven of those classmates joined us for a heartwarming reunion, and together they reminded us to say “yes” to the craziest ideas — because sometimes those are the moments that stay with you forever. 😊

Nym is part of our Leading Lexingtonians exhibit at the Lexington Depot Museum, where we spotlight citizens who have made a difference in our town. Come check it out!

We love when museum friends come to visit! Huge thanks to the docents from Cape Ann Museum for making the trip to Lexington to visit their former Head Librarian & Archivist—and our Executive Director—Trenton Carls. While here, they brushed up on their Revolutionary history and joined in the fun of our ongoing 250th celebrations. History field trip accomplished!

In the summer of 1967, Lexington High School senior Nym Cooke teamed up with 57 other students to write, fund, film, and edit "Doublecross," a 38-minute silent mobster movie made almost entirely by teenagers.

Decades later, the project still brings its cast and crew back together. Join us in welcoming Nym Cooke and Doublecross alumni for a discussion and celebration of his career and the Doublecross project on May 28 at 7 PM.

Part of the Leading Lexingtonians series at the Lexington Depot Museum.
