Tomorrow we are moving all our guests to one of 5 Parking lots in Kirkland, Redmond, and Woodinville. Everyone knows where to go, has a map, a placard, an extra gas card, and a bit of trepidation as we enter this new period of Safe Parking. It’s temporary. And it’s unsettling. They're all learning a new routine. Add to that, these folks will not have as much access to us, food, water, or electricity. I can’t imagine. I’ve been profoundly touched by the trust all these people are putting in us to make sure they have the basics. And we appreciate you, our supporters, so much. If you’re able to help, there are a few things we still need.
$25 ARCO or Safeway cards, bottled water, or anything else on this list: https://lakewaumc.org/donation-page/

Wow, time is flying. In one week, we’ll be moving our guests to alternate parking sites and working on getting everything set up for them. It is coming much faster than we thought it would.
While guests are at these alternate sites in the month of June, they’ll need to drive from Woodinville to Kirkland or Bellevue for showers, laundry, and case management. It’s not an ideal situation for the guests we serve. We are looking for donations of $25 gift cards for Safeway or Arco to help offset the cost of gas.

Donations of a jump box, an electric kettle, & $25 gift cards for Safeway or Arco, & bottled water as there is no water access at most of the alternate locations.

We’re one week closer to our big move. We have 7 other sites to move our 60+ guests to depending on which location will be best for their specific needs during June. We received a donation of a microwave for our alternate site but are still looking for an electric kettle for heating water, and another jump box for jumpstarting cars (example below of one we’ve had good success with). Safeway is close, so we would also appreciate Safeway gift cards for $25, or Arco gas cards for $25. Because our guests will have to either come back to us, or go to Overlake Christian, New Bethlehem, or Sophia way for showers, laundry, a meal, or case management, gas will become a great need, especially with gas prices the way they are. We’re also starting to line up volunteers to drive meals and/or basic needs items to the alternate site in Woodinville. If that is something you are willing to do, please contact [email protected] to sign up as a volunteer.
