Huge shout-out and thanks to Kirkland Community Foundation! Once again, they have maximized our benefit from the Ignite Kirkland fundraiser, and through a combination of Independent Donor Contributions, Incentive Funding powered by Amazon including a Youth Choice Award, and Kirkland Community Foundation itself, we received $5,000 for move-in expenses for our guests moving out of their cars! So far this year, we have spent over $12,000 for 10 families to move into housing. This includes things like security deposits, first month rent, and gas to travel to a new home. Thanks for helping make this happen!

Such a lovely event today by Community Clothing Closet! Lisa and Angela came and created an entire clothing store in our conference room and graciously welcomed over 30 of our guests to pick out whatever they wanted!

Edit: so, now we have so much food we ran out of fridge space. Anyone have some fridge space we could use until Thursday?

We didn't have a dinner donor tonight, but sometimes, it just comes together... Patsy made a chicken casserole, Pashmeena had some salad, Pastor Meredith brought leftover bbq chicken from a picnic, and someone dropped by with 4 Costco pizzas. Our dinner donors for Monday and Tuesday both had to suddenly cancel, I wonder what will happen next ...

Friends, LWUMC Safe Parking Program is fully open and serving a LOT of people. Like, a loooot of people. We have 82 adults registered, and another dozen or so kids. We need more food. We need more meals in the evenings (the sign up says 40 meals, but 50 or 60 would be even better - we ran out last night with 40), we need canned food, we need shelf stable snacks, we need fresh fruit (we get a lot on Monday but by Tuesday it is mostly gone!) we need shelf stable microwave meals, or even cup noodle. We need individual drinks. Message me if you are not sure what to offer, or just drop by the church 9-3 Mon-Fri with your offering. I know this community can feed us, you all are amazing! Update: Fridge has been delivered! Just a couple hundred more dollars needed to pay it off! Thank you all!

We maintain two refrigerators in our Celebration Space: one stocked with food available to all guests, and another designated for guests to store their personal food items. Providing dedicated guest refrigeration helps ensure individuals can manage their dietary needs independently, including food allergies, sensitivities, and preferences. It also provides a safe place for meds that need refrigeration.
Unfortunately, the guest refrigerator stopped working this past weekend.
We are seeking a donor—or multiple donors—to purchase the below replacement refrigerator and cover the removal of the existing unit. This unit can be delivered by Saturday, Aug 1.
We would also gladly accept a clean, fully functioning refrigerator of similar size (36" x 70"), provided that pickup and disposal of the old appliance is included. An earlier delivery date would be appreciated.

Eat Happy Now is such a great partnership - they make the connection to groups that have food and people who can eat it, and then their volunteers use a gig-worker type app to deliver it. We are so grateful! So far this year,
