Lake Washington Junior Football Association exists to provide all children in our community the opportunity to participate in football and cheer, ensure the experience is positive for everyone involved, and prepare our youth for a better future.

That’s a wrap on an UNFORGETTABLE 2025 season! 💜💪

Last night’s banquet was the perfect way to celebrate the hard work, grit, and heart shown by our players, cheerleaders, and coaches. It was so good to see the whole Junior Kangs family back together—we’ve missed those faces over the last few weeks!

From the first whistle in August to the final celebration last night, this season was our best one yet. But just because the pads are off doesn't mean we stop rising.

A HUGE thank you to every player, every cheerleader, every parent, every coach, volunteer, and our dedicated sideline warriors. We see you, and we appreciate you all! This program doesn't run without your heart and soul.

Get ready, Kangs! The off-season starts soon with Speed & Agility and Strength & Conditioning Clinics, and Tackling Camps, more to come in the New Year!

We love this program and the Kirkland community that makes it possible. Enjoy the holidays, stay hydrated, and stay hungry. We’ll see you on the turf soon!

What a wild, emotional, and unforgettable final weekend to our 2025 season. We saw the very best of the Junior Kangs spirit!

Our Rookies and Sophomores left absolutely everything on the field in their Gold Semi-Final battles. Both teams fought until the final whistle, losing two incredibly tough, close heartbreakers against Bellevue and Skyline, respectively. There was no quit in these athletes. We are unbelievably proud of their grit, tenacity, and remarkable season run! You showed us what it means to be a Kang.

Buoyed by the incredible atmosphere created by our home crowd and the Sparkle & Dream Cheer Squads, our Junior Varsity team put on a dominant performance against Inglemoor to take home the GEFJA Silver Championship! Watching them celebrate was the perfect way to cap off the season. Congratulations to our JV players and coaches—you earned it!

It's hard to believe the 2025 season is officially over. To our players, cheerleaders, coaches, parents, families, and fans—THANK YOU! Your dedication, support, and energy made this season truly special. This is just the beginning of something great for the Lake Washington Junior Kangs and Lake Washington High School Football program. Together, we are building something bigger than a single season.

Heads up, fans! There's a location change for Saturday's JV Playoff Football game against Inglemoor.

The game is still set for 1:15 PM, but it will now be played AT HOME at LWHS!

This means our fantastic Sparkle Squad and Dream Squad will also be performing right here at LWHS starting at 1:15 PM.

Get ready to cheer on your Junior Kangs in the Playoffs this Saturday, November 8th! Our JV team is playing for the Silver Championship. Our Sophomores and Rookies are battling in the Gold Semi-Final Games. We need the entire community to show their support!

Today is about bringing that Kirkland spirit and showing everyone in our community—from Bothell to Issaquah and all of Kirkland—the level of commitment and heart we've been developing all season. Leeeeeeeeet's Go!

Go out there and show them what we've been building all year. Run hard, cheer loud, and leave it all on the field!

Important JR Varsity & Sparkle Squad Game Update

North Creek had to pull out of the playoff game this week against our LW JV Team, due to injuries, and as a result, the JV playoff game tomorrow has been cancelled. This, unfortunately, also impacts our fantastic Sparkle Cheer Squad.

While it's disappointing to miss a playoff game, our LW Junior Kangs JV team is moving straight to the Silver Championship next week! That's right—they've earned their spot in the final!

The Sparkle Squad will be there, ready to cheer them on to victory! Let's get ready for a championship week!

Get ready to meet one of the best of the Junior Kangs! Our Varsity player, Cruz, is an absolute standout—an incredible talent on the field and an even better person off of it. He embodies the heart and spirit of our program.

We caught up with Cruz for a quick Q&A to learn more about him.

Q: What do you like to do outside of football?
A: I play for the Jr Kangs basketball team. I love to cook - recently, I have been making different ramen recipes. I like sketching sneaker designs and playing with my two dogs, Fitz & JJ.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: I am really enjoying Health and Band. I play the tuba.

Q: What is the most exciting part of being a Junior Kang?
A: I just love playing football, and I love bonding with my teammates that I'll get to play with in high school.

Q: What is your favorite drill or practice activity? Why do you like it so much?
A: "Bull in the ring" - it's a 1-on-1 battle, I love the physical element of it.

Q: Who is a teammate or coach that really inspires you, and why?
A: My teammates, Owen and Jack. They are on the Line with me, they have my back, and are always there to encourage me. Owen is a great pre-game hype man.

Q: What does it mean to wear the Purple and White and represent LW?
A: Well, we've never had a winning season, but I really like being part of the community - and this is great practice for high school.

Q: What is one goal you had for yourself this season?
A: I wanted to become a captain, which I did. I want to be a positive leader, no matter the outcome of the game.

Cruz is a great leader and example for the Junior Kangs, and we hope his answers inspire some of our younger athletes. M

Hey Kangs Fam! We love celebrating our athletes—meet Akemi from our youngest cheer squad, the Twinkle Squad!

Akemi brings so much energy and spirit to the sidelines. We asked her a few questions to learn more about her experience with the Junior Kangs program.

Q: How many years have you been cheering with the Junior Kangs?
A: This is my first year!

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: My favorite subject is reading.

Q: What do you like to do for fun when you're not cheering?
A: I like to play Roblox and Toca Boca. I also like to draw.

Q: What is the most fun part about being a Junior Kang Cheerleader?
A: Everything!

Q: What is your favorite cheer or routine to perform on the sidelines?
A: My favorite cheer is Fight Fight.

Q: What is your favorite part of Game Day?
A: Cheering and seeing my friends!

Q: What does being a Kang mean to you?
A: It means being a part of a fun group with the Twinkle Squad and the Rookies Team.

Correction, please note the time for the Cubs & Glitter game!

The LW Junior Kangs Football playoff schedules are officially locked in. Our teams have worked hard all season, and now it's time to leave it all on the field in the postseason!

This Saturday is going to be packed with action, with many teams playing at different times and locations, so double-check your team's info —you don't want to miss kick-off!

Big wins in a BLACKOUT for Week 8!

The LW Junior Kangs went head-to-head with Bellevue this weekend, and our teams played with heart, hustle, and fantastic sportsmanship across the board.

A huge shoutout to our three teams who battled hard and brought home the Ws! We are so proud of your effort and ex*****on. To our two teams who faced tough losses—you fought until the final whistle! Learning and growth happen every time we step on the field.

This program is aLWays Rising, and every player and cheerleader contributed to a successful weekend!
