🦘 THERE’S A LITTLE POUCH IN EVERY CORNER OF LWHS. 💜

What did PTSA grants actually help provide last year?

🎺 A new sousaphone for the Marching Kangs
🤖 Robotics, drones & STEM supplies
🎭 Professional theater lighting
📚 Books for English & Spanish classrooms
🎨 Ceramics & visual arts equipment
🎤 Speech & Debate tournament support
☕ Homework Café support
🚲 A new student bike rack
🎓 Yearbooks & fee assistance for students in need
💚 Mental health & academic support programs

And so much more.

Pass the Pouch reaches classrooms, clubs and students throughout LWHS.

💜 YOUR POUCH AT WORK! 🦘

Last year, LWHS PTSA invested more than $48,000 in grants alone!

💰 $38,725 funded 27 grants supporting classrooms, clubs, student programs and enrichment.

🍎 An additional $10,000 was available directly to LWHS teachers and staff, with up to $200 each for classroom supplies and resources they can’t get through district funding.

And that’s just the grants.

Pass the Pouch also supports community events, staff appreciation, emergency preparedness and other programs throughout LWHS.

🎯 This year’s goal: $50,000

Your donations make it possible. 💜

📣 LWHS PSAT & SAT Reminder | Payment Deadline: September 30

LWHS will host the PSAT and SAT on Wednesday, October 21. Here’s what families need to know:

9th grade: Students do not test. A bell schedule will be shared.

10th grade: LWSD pays for all 10th graders to take the PSAT. Students are automatically signed up and expected to attend, though participation is not required.

11th grade: Students may choose to take the PSAT/NMSQT for $23. Payment completes registration. The fee is waived for students who have completed the required Free/Reduced Lunch paperwork. Students who do not test will have an alternate schedule.

12th grade: Seniors may choose to take the SAT for $75, or $8 for students who have completed the required Free/Reduced Lunch paperwork. Payment completes registration. Students who do not test will have an alternate schedule.

⏰ The deadline to pay and register for either test is Wednesday, September 30, at midnight. There are no exceptions. Refunds will not be issued if a student cannot take the PSAT or SAT for any reason. Eligible students will see the waived or reduced fee when making payment.

Bell schedules and more information will be shared before test day. Visit the LWHS PSAT/SAT testing webpage for payment links and additional details: https://lwhs.lwsd.org/students-and-families/psatsatact
