There are such moments of joy in multiage cohorts. This older student loved to teach younger students games and skills and showed so much kindness and patience as they learned and made mistakes. In our small school the relationships can like sibling relationships, yes there are moments of pushing buttons but they care about one another.

Choice time is our students' favorite time of the day! Some students seek out peers to play with while others like some time to work independently on a project. It is a great time for practicing social skills all while doing preferred activities. We should all get some daily choice time! Play is important for us all.

When it comes to art, it's the process that matters. Students are able to experiment with different media and make choices about their artworks. Sometimes what we see at the end is a story the artist is telling rather than a picture in itself.
