This momma had one heartfelt wish: for her little boy to have something new to wear during his first week of school.

She knew that nearly every child in his classroom would arrive wearing something special, and she worried her son would feel left out. His caseworker immediately reached out to OVP Foundation and Ovie’s Attic for help.

Because when you’re a child, clothing is more than something you wear. It can mean confidence, belonging and walking into the classroom with your head held high.

We were honored to help create a special experience for this momma and her little boy, one filled with kindness, dignity and hope.

Moments like this are possible because of collaboration. We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Community Bridge and for every person who donates, volunteers and believes in this work.

Together, we are helping children feel seen, supported and ready to succeed.

OVP Foundation has been busy this past week delivering bookbags throughout our communities, and this little helper from A. D. Lewis Community Center was especially excited to carry them in and help distribute them!

Just look at that smile!

Seeing children light up when they realize someone cares and is there to support them is an incredible feeling. Moments like this remind us why we must continue showing up, and take care of our littles. They are our future. Let’s give every child the opportunity to succeed, grow, and dream big!

Ovie’s Attic has been busy today helping families with book bags and school supplies, clothing, and Fresh Start Baskets filled with essential cleaning and hygiene products

OVP Foundation for Healthier Communities donated 1,200 colorful water bottles to back-to-school events throughout our communities. We understand how important it is for students to stay hydrated, focused, and prepared throughout the school day.

Last week, a mom moved into stable housing with her two little ones after months of uncertainty. Her caseworker contacted Ovie’s Attic, and we were able to help provide the basic needs. When Mom looked around the room—at the blankets, the dishes, the towels, the cleaning supplies—she paused, took a breath, and said, “I didn’t realize how much I missed feeling normal.”

It wasn’t the pots and pans that brought tears to her eyes. It was the dignity. The comfort. The sense of finally being able to give her children a home that felt safe and steady.

All - we have another momma in need of assistance. As you can see , if the $205.15 doesn’t get paid by the 30th, electric will be shut off. This happens more often than we realize - a lot of us have to choose which bills to pay and which may be able to be pushed back but ultimately it makes it near impossible to catch up.
