As the summer comes to a close we want to thank everyone who helped us this summer. We are so grateful for all of our volunteers who have come to serve with us in Cabell County. They did amazing work to make homes warmer, safer, and drier. Also, thank you to our homeowners who welcomed us with open arms. We have loved getting to know everyone and hearing your stories. Our time here in Cabell has treated us well, and we have everyone in the community to thank for that. We are sad to have to leave tomorrow but here is what we will be up to next:

Alyssa will be going back to UNC Chapel Hill for her senior year studying human and organizational leadership development.
Sophie will be going back to UNC Wilmington for her Sophomore year studying marine biology.
Jake will be going back to NC State for his Senior year studying aerospace engineering.
Jack will be going back to the University of Pittsburgh for his Sophomore year studying computer engineering.

At Violet Purple we removed the old siding and installed foam insulation and mocha colored vinyl siding around the entire house. In addition, we repaired the front in side porch along with replacing all of the stairs. We hope this keeps the homeowner warmer in the winter and makes getting in and out of the house safer!

At Mac and Cheese, we built a porch and ramp in the front. The less steep ramp with handrails should make entering and exiting the house easier for the homeowners. We loved working alongside the lovely homeowners at this worksite who always provided volunteers with incredible baked goods!

At Timberwolf we removed the old siding and installed foam insulation and white vinyl siding around the entire house. We built a ramp off of the front porch for the homeowners' son. We replaced the decking and handrails on the front porch and replaced the front stairs to make this exit safer. We also replaced the stairs on the back porch. Inside the home, we installed floor coverings in her kitchen and dining room as well as painted the walls and installed trim. We really loved working with this kind homeowner and are going to miss seeing her every day.

At Inchworm we removed the aluminum siding, installed foam insulation around the entire home, and worked to install mocha colored vinyl siding. The homeowner was excited for having a warmer home in the winter and we were so happy to meet her.

At Neon Carrot, we worked to install foam insulation around the entire house and grey vinyl siding. We also installed soffit and fascia around the entire house to keep animals out. We appreciate all the help we received from volunteers on this project.

At Tumbleweed we replaced the floor system in the bedroom, repaired the walls, painted the room, and installed floor coverings and a stair to get in and out of the room. We also replaced two windows in the room and repaired the roof by replacing the decking and installing SBS. We replaced a leaky door and repaired the floor near that door. We replaced the deck boards and railings on the front porch. We installed insulation and vinyl siding around the whole house and underpinning around the whole house. We are so grateful for all of the hard work volunteers put in to make this project possible. We loved working with this homeowner and so did our volunteers.

At Laser Lemon, we installed foam insulation and new siding on the house and installed a ramp on the second exit. The ramp is less steep and should help the homeowner get in and out of the house more easily while also ensuring she has two safe exits. We loved getting to know this family and appreciate all the volunteers that made completing this project possible.

At Beaver, we installed soffit and fascia around the back and side of the house. The homeowner loved meeting volunteers and seeing how the project turned out. We are grateful for all the volunteers that helped us complete this project.
