The SAME Huntington Post's March Meeting featured a very special guest speaker, Mr. Bryant Bowman. Mr. Bowman is a professional surveyor in West Virginia and has been an active member of the Huntington Post for many years, including multiple roles in Post leadership. More notably, Mr. Bowman is a Vietnam veteran, serving in the United States Army as an Army engineer. Mr. Bowman's presentation shared history from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers of the construction of Hai Van Pass in Vietnam in 1968, which was key to supplying American troops north of Danang. The North Vietnamese knew its value as a supply route and fought to prevent its construction, but the USACE built it anyway.
