MCTC to host OSHA 10 and 30 Hour Training Course in Construction (Submitted by Karen Horner, Mountwest Community and Technical College)
The Outreach Training Program provides basic safety and health information and education — The OSHA Outreach Training Program for the Construction Industry provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in the construction industry. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. Through this program, workers can attend 10-hour or 30-hour classes delivered by OSHA-authorized trainers. The 10-hour class is intended to provide workers with awareness of common job-related safety and health hazards, while the 30-hour class is more appropriate for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility. Through this training, OSHA helps to ensure that workers are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights, and contribute to our nation's productivity. The classes will start on Monday January 8, 2018 at 8:00 am and will end on Thursday January 11, 2018. Classes will be held from 8am-4pm each day. On Monday and Tuesday class will cover material for the OSHA 10 hour course. Then on Wednesday and Thursday, participants can opt to complete the full 30 hours course. Cost for OSHA 10 hour is $65.00 and if you wish to complete the entire course it is $200.00. Upon successful completion, participants will receive an OSHA certification. To register for one or both classes, please email Angela Howell at [email protected] by Wednesday, January 3rd.
