Weaving Sephardic stories with melodies that become improvisations in Middle-Eastern modes, ALHAMBRA performs the rhythmic, haunting music of Spain, the Balkans, North Africa and Israel. The ensemble's virtuoso performers on the oud, qanun (trapezoidal zither), nay (ancient vertical flute), dumbek (middle-eastern drum) and shawm, create exciting arrangements of Judeo-Spanish wedding music, love so

What a day! The annual National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) took place today at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. Of the 6 students I entered in various categories, three were finalists and three were semi-finalists.
