Empowering Women to Reach New Heights Our Health Series directly reached 450 women on the all important issue of preventive health.

The GHWCC has taken major steps towards advancing and empowering Houston women through numerous avenues – from leadership to education to advocacy and mentoring. We have reached over 90,000 readers in our Chronicle Health Series Column, starting the dialogue on prevention as a key element in combating worker absenteeism and health care costs. Our governmental affairs committee has welcomed many of our elected officials to our meetings and events so they can see first hand how influential our membership is. Women are the largest economic force in America. As women who have achieved in times when job opportunities for women were limited, today we have different challenges like raising graduation rates for minority women. This Chamber's success shows how we can do so much more. By becoming a united force for prosperity for all women, and by providing key scholarships to those with great promise, we are also creating the future leaders of this chamber and our community. During the past election year, the glass ceiling took on millions of new cracks thanks to two strong female candidates. We now enjoy a future where the sky is truly the limit. Women have shown they are creative thinkers capable of leading American business to work smarter, faster and become more competitive than ever before. The Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit business organization of highly influential and diverse women and men dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of women through avenues of leadership, education, advocacy, and mentoring.

A wonderful afternoon of connection, conversation, and insight at our Central Houston/Energy Corridor Chapter Luncheon! ✨
Held on September 9 at Maggiano’s Little Italy at Post Oak, the luncheon brought together GHWCC members, business leaders, and professionals from across Houston for an engaging opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and hear from leaders shaping our community and industries.
We were honored to welcome Megan E. Ortiz, Senior Director of External Relations at Axiom Space, as our featured panelist. Megan shared valuable insight from her work at the forefront of the commercial space industry, offering attendees a unique perspective on leadership, innovation, and Houston’s growing role in the future of space exploration.

The GHWCC Southwest Houston/Fort Bend Chapter recently brought together leading physicians from Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital for an inspiring conversation on the health issues that matter most to women.
A special thank you to moderator Malisha Patel, Senior Vice President & CEO of Memorial Hermann Southwest & Sugar Land Hospitals, and panelists Dr. Brandon Sass, Dr. Jessica Schultz, Dr. Michelle L. Shen, and Dr. Michelle S. Wong for sharing their expertise and practical guidance.
From perimenopause and HRT to preventive screenings, shingles vaccinations, caregiving, and the importance of regular exercise, attendees gained valuable insights to support their health at every stage of life.

The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrated the conclusion of the 2026 Love What You Do College Mentoring Program.
This meaningful program, led by the GHWCC Education Committee and supported by Dr. Diana Pino, Brandee Rogers, and Joyce Jones, provided Houston-area college junior and senior women with valuable mentorship, networking, professional development, and career exploration opportunities.
Through the program, mentees were matched with professional women whose experience aligned with their chosen career paths. These mentor relationships helped students gain confidence, receive career guidance, expand their networks, and prepare for the next step in their professional journeys.
We are grateful to the mentors, students, Chamber members, and community leaders who made this year’s program a success. GHWCC also extends special thanks to Dress for Success for its support and continued commitment to helping women and young women prepare for professional opportunities and achieve success.
