Trees for Houston

Trees for Houston Trees for Houston are a non-profit organization in Houston that promotes the process of planting and preserving trees in the city.

Celebrating the 30th year of preserving trees on the streets of Houston, Trees for Houston strongly maintains its efforts on providing large scale tree planting as the city continues to grow. Trees provide important functions, such as controlling storm water runoff, providing energy conserving shade, and filtering pollutants from our air. Also, a new objective of the organization involves providin

g educational opportunities for members and volunteers of Trees for Houston. Donors and charities in Houston are greatly committed to the organization’s mission. However, more people in Houston need to become aware of the possibilities available to contribute to this organization. We hope this page will provide enough accurate information for viewers to participate in the process of saving Houston's trees. Trees for Houston offer many ways to become involved and maintain active stability within the organization:
• Volunteer
• Become a member
• Sponsor a tree planting
• Emerge as a donor
• Join support programs, educational programs for the youth and adults, and tribute programs
• Attend fundraising events & the Arbor Day Awards

Alicia Wilfred is a donor of our Tribute Program. She joined the program in 2007 to honor her best friend who has passed away. She now participates in tree plantings regularly and feels that Trees for Houston has become an important aspect of her life.

Alicia takes pride in sharing knowledge of the importance of trees and continues to celebrate her tree that keeps on growing. "I am so happy I planted a tree in memory of my friend. It is a gift that will keep on giving. It will help our community, provide fresher air in Houston, and Myra would've wanted me to do this. She loved nature, and now I do too."

Veronica Summers has been a member of Trees for Houston for 12 years. She is extremely active within our organization, and we commend her for helping us plant and preserve trees throughout the greater region of Houston.

Mrs. Summers has recently become involved in our educational programs assisting advisors and students in the process of planting trees. We want to thank her for devoting time to the organization and planting 17 trees at schools this year alone!
