🎉 Exciting Leadership Announcement from Avondale House 🎉

Following a thoughtful and intentional search process, we are thrilled to welcome Kimberlyn Clarkson as the new Chief Executive Officer of Avondale House.

Kimberlyn is a proven nonprofit leader with a remarkable record of impact in our community. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she is a passionate relationship builder whose energy, optimism, and vision make her the ideal person to lead Avondale House into its next chapter. The Board of Directors unanimously approved her appointment, confident that she is the perfect leader at the perfect time for our organization.

Kimberlyn shared the following message:
“Avondale House is a well-respected and much-needed 50-year-old Houston institution and resource. I am both grateful and honored to lead alongside its deeply committed board and staff to ensure that participants and their families will always have a safe and trusted place to grow, learn, and call home.”

Kimberlyn’s first day as CEO will be September 21, and we look forward to introducing her to our incredible community in the weeks ahead.

As we celebrate this exciting milestone, we are filled with hope and confidence for the future. Together, we will continue building on the Avondale House 50-year legacy while expanding our impact and creating even greater opportunities for the individuals and families we serve.

Avondale House is excited to welcome our new receptionist, Naomi to our team!
 
Originally from Westlake, Louisiana, Naomi recently relocated to Houston in April 2026 from Lafayette, bringing with her 18 years of experience in early childhood education and leadership. She began her career as a teacher’s aide before advancing to a classroom teacher, assistant director, and ultimately serving as the director of a childcare center in Lafayette for the past four years.
 
When asked what she enjoys most about Avondale House, Naomi shared that it is the kindness and sense of purpose she sees throughout the organization “Knowing that everyone walking through these doors has a purpose, not just focusing on themselves but also helping others, says a lot. Being part of something so meaningful is the reason I’m here.”
 
In her role at Avondale House, Naomi is looking forward to supporting participants, families, and fellow team members however she can. She hopes to be a welcoming face for everyone who enters our doors and a source of encouragement when it’s needed most.

Avondale House is seeking a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) to support our residential program and help ensure the highest quality of care for the individuals we serve.
 
This role is responsible for individualized service planning, staff training, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and advocating for the health, safety, and well-being of our residents.

Our participants had so much fun preparing for and playing bingo with volunteers from Brunel Americas . The energy in the room was contagious, and every game brought smiles, laughter, and opportunities to connect.
