Yesterday The Fire Fighters Foundation of Houston accepted a $60,000 donation from Cheniere Energy for the purchase of battery-operated high powered fans for every latter truck in Houston. These fans are amazing in that they can clear out an area of smoke within seconds without producing carbon monoxide which can be dangerous for our fire fighters. The sole purpose of the foundation is to raise the funds to supply the Department with the necessary tools to keep our fire fighters safe and healthy. Ninety-six cents of every dollar donated goes directly to purchase this equipment. So far our foundation has donated more than $3.5 million in equipment to the Houston Fire Department. At the ceremony for this donation with me were Houston City Council Member Twila Carter, Fire Chief Thomas Munoz and Cheniere's Wendy Craven. Also attending were FFFHouston board members Joni Baird, Nathan Jung, Paula McHam and Basya Benshushan

It has been my honor to serve as chairman of The Fire Fighters Foundation of Houston for the past number of years. One of the most rewarding aspects is getting to purchase life-saving equipment for the Houston Fire Department. Since its inception the foundation has donated more than $3million in equipment to the department. As a matter of fact 96 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to purchase equipment. Through the incredible generosity of Cheniere Energy and the Foundation, we were able to donate 28 thermal cameras to the fire training facility today. Here at the ceremony with me are Julie Nelson, Cheniere SVP Policy Government and Public Affairs, Chief Tom Munoz and Wendy Craven, Director global Corporate Giving Programs, Cheniere.
