We’re incredibly grateful for the businesses and organizations that have intentionally partnered with us to provide crucial support for children and families throughout Houston.

Partnerships that have led to outcomes like:
➡️ A free car donated to a single mom.
➡️ An entire apartment furnished for a family fleeing domestic violence.
➡️ 3 Essential furniture, clothing, and household items provided to vulnerable families at no cost.

Across our city, families reach a breaking point every day. Often, simply because they lack the right support at the right time. When that happens, children are separated, and your neighborhood feels the ripple effects.

Through strategic and intentional partnerships, we're able to quickly step in and meet these needs that arise.

If your business or organization is interested in finding a place along The River, we'd love to meet you! Get started here:

The major end-goal of our strategic plan is to embed local teams directly within communities across Houston so support efforts can become more relational, local, and sustainable over time.

We’ve almost reached our first major milestone to be able to expand into Southwest Houston! (If you've seen our recent posts about hiring, we're starting to build this team!)

The closer we are to the needs of families and children in a specific area, the better we can help our community respond to real needs with consistency and care.

➡️ If you haven't seen our strategic plan yet, we'd love for you to take a look! You can find all the details here: https://riversideproject.org/blog/strategic-plan/

Summer can bring rest and joy for many families. But for others, it can also bring added stress.

Changes in routine, increased childcare needs, food insecurity, transportation challenges, and financial pressure can create overwhelming situations for caregivers already trying to hold everything together.

This is why community support and proximity matters so deeply.

When we come together as a community and move closer to real needs, we can support vulnerable families through practical action and consistency.

This is one of the reasons The Response Network exists, and we are so grateful to see people throughout our community step up to meet real needs every single day. 💙

Children who have experienced trauma need support rooted in trust, connection, and understanding.

Our upcoming Introduction to TBRI training on June 5th is designed to help caregivers, churches, educators, and community members better understand trauma-informed care and practical ways to support children well.

Whether you work professionally with children or simply want to grow in the way you care for others, this training is a great place to begin. We'd love to have you join us!

Most people don’t mean harm when talking about foster care, children, or families connected to the child welfare system. But the specific words we use matter more than we often realize.

Language has the power to shape how people feel seen, understood, and valued.

So in our latest blog, we explore how becoming more thoughtful about the way we speak can create space for dignity, trust, and genuine connection within the foster care community.

➡️ Read more on why the language we use matters: riversideproject.org/blog/language-matters/

This work has always been built through partnership.

Today we’re highlighting Foster Village Houston, an organization bridging the gap between foster families and caregivers and those who want to help, meeting practical needs and providing holistic support beyond the system.

We are so thankful for our partnership with Foster Village Houston and are beyond grateful for them and the work that are doing in our city.

Through relationships like this, needs are met, support becomes more accessible, and families are reminded they are not navigating things alone.

We’re all in this together! 💙
