Thank you for your support of the families and children served by
RMHH — we’re glad you’re here! We welcome your thoughts, comments, suggestions and questions
about RMHH. As you may know there are many inspiring people
supporting RMHH and wonderful stories to share. While our ultimate
goal is to have open dialogue with our fans, we know that there just
isn’t enough time in the day to respond to every post. We also know
that some of the best dialog is that which happens between our friends
and supporters; just like in our Ronald McDonald House! We do ask
that when using our Fan Page, all friends be respectful toward others
by complying with the terms and policies of Facebook and by avoiding
posting spam or comments that attack, discriminate, or disparage
other users, contain expletives or other profane language, include
inflammatory content, or referencing third party pages or websites. To
help protect our RMHH guests, staff, volunteers and supporters, we
reserve the right to immediately remove any postings including, but not
limited to, spam, advertising and topics that compromise the privacy of
RMHH guests or staff or are otherwise disruptive to the community or
not in keeping with the core values of RMHH. Repeated or flagrant abuses that disrupt the mission of this online
community may result in a user being removed from the RMHH
Facebook community.

What a day! This morning, our families woke up to McDonald’s breakfast sandwiches and apple pie- and a blowout bash to celebrate our forever partner, McDonald's Houston.

We invited restaurant owners and crew members from the 18 Greater Houston area McDonald’s that generated the most Round Up donations to Holcombe House so they could see firsthand the impact of their efforts.

We had so much fun dancing , playing and painting together- and we can’t wait to do it again. Thanks a Million!!

At our Ronald McDonald House inside Texas Children’s Hospital, there’s a bulletin board that tells some very big stories through very little moments.

When you have a hospitalized infant, every milestone matters. A little more milk. A good night. Weight gained. One less tube. A tiny step closer to home.

Parents and caregivers can add those moments to our board on sticky notes and share photos of their babies. It’s more than a bulletin board – it’s where our families, staff and volunteers celebrate progress, share hope, and remind each other that they’re not alone.

For NICU families, days can be long and isolating. Some parents rarely leave their baby’s side except to sleep. These small opportunities for connection can mean so much.

Happy National Intern Day to Liza Lopez, our Hospital Family Activities intern!

Liza works alongside our team and assists with planning and facilitating activities for patients, siblings, and caregivers. She helps create meaningful moments that provide comfort, normalcy, and connection during a family's hospital journey while learning how family-centered programming can positively impact the patient and family experience.

We are in a bit of a SQUEEZE!

Our kiddos can't get enough of squishy toys like NeeDohs, squishy dumplings, and other squeezable friends. They may look like simple toys, but they're a big deal when you're facing a stressful day at the hospital.

Whether they're squishing away nervous energy or fidgeting through a long appointment, these little toys bring smiles, giggles and a much-needed moment of fun.

If you're looking for an easy way to make a child smile, we'd love donations of new squishy toys for Grandma's Closet, where families use earned tickets to "shop" for special prizes.

Ever wondered what it takes to feed nearly 100 people? Just ask our crew of volunteers from Southwest Airlines. Here's the recipe that's become a Ronald McDonald House favorite.

Southwest Airlines' World-Famous Meatloaf
For one pan (multiply by 18 to feed Holcombe House families!)
1 lb. ground beef
1 small roll Jimmy Dean regular sausage
2 eggs
1 package Texas Toast croutons
1 package H-E-B Meatloaf Seasoning
1 small can tomato sauce
2 squirts mustard
Jalapeños to taste

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grind the Texas Toast croutons in a blender until they are fine crumbs. Combine ground beef, sausage, eggs, crouton crumbs, meatloaf seasoning, tomato sauce, mustard, and jalapeños in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly, place in a baking pan, and bake for approximately 90 minutes, or until the meat reaches internal temp. of 160 degrees.

For more than 45 years, Southwest Airlines employees have shown up with grocery bags full of ingredients, sleeves rolled up, aprons tied, and enough heart to feed nearly 100 hungry family members. But their commitment goes beyond serving dinner. They create moments of normalcy, laughter, and connection around the table while preparing everything from spaghetti and jambalaya to barbecue and Thanksgiving turkey. One particular dish has earned top marks among residents at Ronald McDonald House Greater Houston: Southwest's world-famous meatloaf.

But dinner is just part of the story.

Some nights turn into karaoke competitions. Others become dance parties, games, or celebrations that help families build joyful memories together.

Southwest Airlines has also been a steadfast supporter through generous donations, gifts, and countless acts of kindness that extend far beyond the kitchen.

To every Southwest Airlines volunteer, pilot, flight attendant, mechanic, office employee, and supporter who has spent an evening serving our families over the past four decades—thank you. Your partnership has become part of the fabric of Ronald McDonald House Greater Houston, and generations of families have felt your kindness.

It's 713 Day and we are celebrating all things uniquely Houston!

Our families had the unforgettable experience of painting a mural with renown Houston artist GONZO247 - famous for his distinctive, colorful murals around the Bayou City.
