📣 Announcing the 2026 Bluff Park Art Show Judge: John Fields

The Bluff Park Art Association is proud to welcome John Fields, Senior Director of UAB's Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts, AEIVA, as the judge for the 2026 Bluff Park Art Show.

John is an accomplished artist and curator whose work has been exhibited across the country and internationally. He holds an MFA in Painting and Video and has spent more than a decade teaching fine arts at the university level. His curatorial career includes producing nationally traveling exhibitions and leading standout shows at AEIVA, including WARHOL: Fabricated, Beverly Fishman: Another Day in Paradise, and Jessica Angel: Facing the Hyperstructure.

We’re honored to have John’s experience and artistic insight shaping this year’s show. Please join us in welcoming him to Bluff Park.

This past weekend, the Bluff Park Art Association hosted a reception honoring our 2026 scholarship recipient, Caroline Barnett.

Board members, family, and friends gathered to celebrate Caroline’s achievements and her next steps as she prepares to study Visual Arts at the University of Montevallo.

Hoover Mayor Nick Derzis also joined us to celebrate Caroline and to see her work.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating Caroline. Moments like these remind us why investing in young artists matters and how bright the future of our local arts community truly is.

Congratulations to Hoover resident and Spain Park High School student Caroline Barnett on being named the scholarship winner by the Bluff Park Art Association! This is an outstanding achievement and a testament to Caroline's creativity, talent, and hard work.

We are proud to see one of Hoover’s young artists recognized in such a meaningful way and look forward to all you will accomplish in the future.
