Our World Refugee Day Celebration is THIS SATURDAY from 11-2 and we so hope you will come. Our clients and staff have worked so hard preparing for this special event!

BUT WE ALSO HAVE AN URGENT NEED FOR THE EVENT… we still need 6 more volunteers to man the tables/booths. Could you serve from 10:30 - 2:30 so that this event is the best it can be and we can welcome the community well? Email Kathy or DM us if you can serve!

🚗 What if owning a car didn't require years of expensive payments?

For many refugee and immigrant families, reliable transportation is the key to keeping a job, attending English classes, getting children to school, and accessing healthcare. But traditional car loans often come with barriers that make vehicle ownership feel out of reach.

Through the CCC Transportation Program, we're working to change that.

Thanks to generous donors, qualifying clients can purchase reliable vehicles for $500 or less, making car ownership possible without taking on burdensome debt or high-interest loans. Instead of spending thousands of dollars on rideshares or being limited by unreliable transportation, families can invest in a vehicle that helps them build stability and independence.

But we need your help.

We are currently seeking donated cars, vans, and SUVs to expand this program and help more families access safe, affordable transportation. Your donated vehicle could become the tool that helps someone get to work, pursue an education, care for their family, and build a brighter future.

If you have a vehicle you're considering selling, trading in, or no longer need, consider donating it to CCC.

Together, we can help remove one of the biggest barriers facing refugee and immigrant families and create pathways for long-term flourishing.

📩 Contact us today to learn more about donating a vehicle.

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." — Psalm 118:24

For many refugees and displaced families, each day brings challenges, uncertainty, and difficult transitions. Yet even in the midst of hardship, God's grace makes room for hope, resilience, and joy.

Today, we celebrate the strength of those who continue to move forward with courage and faith. May we be reminded that joy is not the absence of struggle—it is the presence of God's love through it all.

Join us in praying for refugees around the world and in supporting efforts that help families rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

🙏 "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." (Romans 12:12)

At CCC, our mission is simple: to love our neighbors well and help people from all nations thrive.

Everything we do is rooted in who we are. We are Christ-centered. We lead with mercy. We honor dignity. We practice hospitality. We build community. We embrace responsibility. And we pursue growth.

These values shape how we welcome refugees, immigrants, and international neighbors as they build new lives in Alabama. They guide our volunteers, staff, donors, and church partners as we work together to alleviate burdens and create opportunities for flourishing.

Thank you for being part of this mission. Whether you pray, volunteer, give, advocate, or simply choose to welcome the stranger, you are helping build a stronger, more connected community.

🚗 Your vehicle can help a family thrive.

For many refugee and immigrant families in Birmingham, transportation remains one of the biggest barriers to employment, education, healthcare, and long-term stability. Without reliable transportation, a simple trip to work, an English class, or a doctor's appointment can become a major challenge.

That's why CCC launched the CCC Transportation Program. Through this program, we provide rides to work, medical appointments, educational opportunities, school meetings, and other essential services—helping refugee and immigrant families move toward self-sufficiency and flourish in our community.

As the program continues to grow, we are currently seeking five vehicle donations—one vehicle for use by our office staff and four vehicles that can be provided directly to clients working toward independence. A reliable vehicle can mean the difference between keeping a job, attending classes, making a medical appointment, or missing out on opportunities that help families thrive.

If you have a car, van, or SUV that you're considering selling, trading in, or no longer need, would you consider donating it to CCC instead?

A donated vehicle is more than transportation. It's an investment in opportunity, dignity, and the success of a family building a new life in Birmingham.

To learn more about donating a vehicle, send us a message or contact our office today.

Behind every refugee is a story.

A story of courage. A story of loss. A story of hope.

This World Refugee Day, we invite you to move beyond the headlines and statistics and spend time with the people who make our community stronger every day. Refugees are entrepreneurs, parents, students, coworkers, neighbors, and friends. They have overcome incredible challenges to build new lives in Birmingham, and their stories are worth celebrating.

On Saturday, June 20, CCC will host a free World Refugee Day Celebration that brings our community together to honor the resilience, cultures, and contributions of refugee families from around the world.

Come meet your neighbors. Taste food from different cultures. Support refugee-owned businesses. Watch Jesus Was a Migrant by Dr. Jemar Tisby. And join us in celebrating the beautiful diversity that makes Birmingham a better place to live.

Every week, our volunteers show up in practical ways to welcome refugees and immigrants in our community—teaching English, helping families navigate a new city, sharing meals, and building friendships that reflect the love of Christ.

But there are moments when loving our neighbors also means speaking up on their behalf.

This month, we're inviting our volunteers and supporters to take one more step in welcoming the stranger: advocacy.

You don't need any experience in public policy. You don't need to be an expert. You simply need a heart for your refugee and immigrant neighbors and a willingness to share why they matter.

Join CCC and World Relief's Believe in More Advocacy Days as we meet virtually with Alabama's congressional offices to advocate for refugee and immigrant families.

📚 Advocacy Training: June 12 at 12:00 PM EST

💻 Virtual Congressional Meetings: June 22–26

Whether you've volunteered for years or just recently connected with our mission, your story and perspective can help our elected leaders better understand the needs and contributions of refugee and immigrant families in Alabama.

🏆 Winning Wednesday 🏆

This week, we are celebrating an incredible milestone for one of our CCC clients!

For the past year, this young lady has faithfully attended GED classes with our partners at The Learning Center. Through hard work, commitment, and perseverance, she has officially passed her GED test!

But she is not stopping there.

Now, she is preparing a plan for college—and even has her sights set on medical school. Her determination is a beautiful reminder that every step forward matters, and big dreams are built one goal at a time.

We are so proud of her accomplishment and excited to cheer her on as she continues pursuing her education and future career. Congratulations! Your CCC family is celebrating with you! 🎉
