As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the many ways creativity, connection, and compassion support emotional well-being every single day. 💚

At UAB Arts in Medicine, we witness the power of the arts to create moments of comfort, expression, joy, reflection, and human connection for patients, families, staff, and our community.

Mental health care can look like many things — asking for help, taking a pause, creating something meaningful, sharing your story, moving your body, listening to music, or simply allowing yourself a moment to breathe.

As May ends, we want to remind you that caring for your mental health is not limited to one month. You deserve support, care, rest, and connection all year long.

Thank you to the artists, therapists, healthcare workers, caregivers, and community members who continue showing up for others — and for themselves.
