We’re creating a welcoming space to connect, share experiences, and support one another. Whether you’re living with a spinal cord injury, caring for someone who is, or just looking to learn more—you’re invited.

We’re also excited to welcome guest speaker Dr. Kelly Atkins, who will discuss seating-related pressure injury prevention.

Let’s come together, build community, and learn from one another.

We are incredibly grateful at Alabama Head Injury Foundation (AHIF) to be invited to partner with Collin Long and his mother, Amy, as they share Collin’s powerful recovery journey through the Long Shot Golf Scramble. 💚⛳

This event is more than a day on the course—it’s a celebration of resilience, hope, and the impact of community support for individuals and families affected by brain injury.

Join us in honoring Collin’s story and helping us continue our mission to serve those in need.

🎉 Community outings are always better together! 🎉

The Dothan Area Support Group had an amazing time enjoying fun, games, and fellowship at the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Rec Center. 💙🏀🎲

A huge THANK YOU to Ridgecrest Baptist Church for graciously inviting us to use their wonderful facility, and to the Wallace State PTA students for volunteering and helping make the day so special! Your kindness, energy, and support mean so much to our group.

Together, we continue building connection, community, and encouragement — one outing at a time! 😊

This May, during Mental Health Awareness Month, we recognize the importance of emotional well-being and the power of compassionate support. 💚

At AHIF, we are incredibly grateful for our dedicated Mental Health Counseling Team, whose care, guidance, and encouragement make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and caregivers every day. Their commitment to listening, supporting, and empowering others helps strengthen our community and reminds us that no one has to face challenges alone.

Thank you to our amazing counseling team pictured (but missing Marilyn) for the immense support you provide and for being such an important part of the AHIF family. 💚

☀️ Caregiver Summer Support Group ☀️
Join us this summer for The Caregiver Resilience Alphabet — a support group series created to encourage, uplift, and empower caregivers through meaningful conversations about resilience and well-being.

Each session highlights a different letter of the alphabet paired with a caregiver-centered word or theme that reflects the strengths, challenges, and experiences of caregiving....covering topics like ✨ Joy, 🌱 Leadership, 🧘 Mindfulness, 💪 Perseverance, and ❤️ Resilience.

This series offers caregivers a welcoming space to:
✔️ Connect with others
✔️ Reflect on their caregiving journey
✔️ Gain encouragement and support

📅 Wednesdays at 10 AM
📍 May 27 – August 5

You don’t have to navigate caregiving alone. Join the conversation and build resilience together. 🌴☀️
