As National Adoption Month approaches, Fund the Nations is giving one adoptive family the opportunity to receive up to $30,000 toward their adoption.

Fund the Nations is once again hosting its Adopt with FTN Campaign, an opportunity for one adoptive family to receive up to $30,000 toward their adoption. Since 2016, the campaign has helped fully fund nine adoptions for families pursuing their adoption journeys.

The campaign begins with an Awareness Round, where families share their stories and invite their communities to rally around them. From there, 10 families will advance to the Fundraising Round, where supporters can purchase limited-edition Chosen apparel to help fund adoption expenses.

If you or someone you know is currently pursuing an adoption, applications are open through October 18 at 11:59 p.m. CST.

After a three-year legal battle, Oregon mom Jessica Bates has reached a settlement that clears the way for her to pursue foster care adoption without being forced to compromise her sincerely held religious beliefs.

Her story is a reminder that children in need deserve families who are willing to step forward, love them well and provide a safe, stable home.

We’re grateful to see the door remain open for Jessica to continue pursuing adoption. Every willing family should have the opportunity to step forward and love a child well.

MYTH: “They have so many different diagnoses, so FASD probably isn’t part of the picture.”

TRUTH: Children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) may receive multiple diagnoses over time, including ADHD, RAD, ODD, PTSD, ASD, and others. These diagnoses may be accurate, but sometimes they don't fully explain the bigger picture.

When a child continues to experience challenges across different areas, it may be worth considering whether those challenges could fall under the broader umbrella of FASD.

Understanding the whole picture can help caregivers and professionals better understand a child’s needs and provide more effective support.
