It has been a busy few weeks but we are grateful to share some exciting news: DHC completed our inspection today and has been approved by the VA to operate our first homeless shelter for Veterans on Oʻahu.

This shelter will serve both male and female Veterans and will provide meals, laundry access, case management, and transportation to required appointments. Our goal is to offer a safe, supportive place where Veterans can receive care, stability, and connection as they move forward towards permanent housing. If you would like to be included in our grand opening celebration or would love to be involved in this program, please comment below so I can make sure you are added to the invitation list.

Reflecting on the 2026 Recovery Ho’olaulea, we are reminded of the profound wisdom in the Hawaiian proverb, 'A’ohe hana nui ke alu ‘ia'—no task is too great when done together.

In the field of substance abuse recovery, the journey toward healing is rarely a solitary one. This gathering brought together providers from across the community, reinforcing a vital truth: our collective impact is exponentially stronger when we build authentic, lasting relationships with one another.

When we unite our resources, expertise, and compassion, we create a more resilient network of support for those we serve. Celebrating a beautiful day of accomplishments for our DHC graduates of . We deeply value our partnership with Touch a Heart because it helps individuals with barriers to employment gain confidence, join the workforce, and become contributing members of society.

Through there 8-week program, they offer:
Hands-on culinary training
Field trips and guest speakers
Hard and soft skills development
�Hawai‘i Department of Health
Food Handler Certification training
Resume writing assistance and interview preparation
Job placement services
